We traveled in the first class cars and enjoyed it very much. Unlimited wine, a range of snacks, and very friendly staff. A nice way to end a day touring.

A disappointing trip. I loved the Skyrail and scenic railway which afforded some great views but found Kurranda itself just a tourist trap full of tacky shops and stalls and overpriced attractions got up just for the tourists

We had a wonderful day out from Port Douglas. Coach driver was very informative as we went along. Fab trip up on train and down later on sky rail. We had a storm while we were in the rain forest which added to the atmosphere....More

The vintage trains are very well maintained and look stunning. On-board commentary are interesting and easy to follow. The train staff are very helpful, move people to vacant seats and help passengers take photos to ensure everyone have a good time on the train. Scenery...More

If you are in Cairns, this is a must do excursion. An old fashioned train the goes up a mountain and you learn of history of the building of the train. It’s slow moving so you can relax and enjoy the scenery. The train stops...More

This train and the history of the bygone era have been well represented by the trip we took back to Cairns from Kuranda. The beautiful sights are even more mesmerising from the train as it snakes it's way down to the plains.

We opted for Gold Class which meant we had individual seating, all you can drink (tea, coffee, soft drink) and morning tea (muffin, biscuit etc) along with a souvenir (pen, postcard, pin). It was a lovely ride up the ranges to Kuranda and the seats...More

A great way to immerse in the area, the railway has quite a few scenic spots to take pictures and the story is very interesting. Book a window seat if you can as it's a lot better experience.. We went up on the sky rail...More

So much beauty to behold and fascinating history - a must do if you are afraid of heights, a great alternative to the sky rail.

Would highly recommend the train up the mountain and the Skyrail down. Kuranda is a great place with shops and smaller zoo like places to go. The train takes you over waterfalls through tunnels and gives you small talks on how it was built, Gold...More

Not sure. I know there is a free bus service from Smithfield to central station and I recall it stops at Freshwater as well. It is free with your train ticket
