Not as great as expected. The surrounds were nice I suppose but I just forest to me. But you have to get back somehow and it took us all the way back to the centre of Cairns.

Not sure. I know there is a free bus service from Smithfield to central station and I recall it stops at Freshwater as well. It is free with your train ticket
