Second visit for us from South Australia and the reason we chose to stay in Kuranda for last couple of nights of our QLD trip. Always a pleasure to hear from Pam and see some of the rescues. Iain also was able to give some...More

We were all happy finding the bat reach, but it looks like we picked the "wrong day". The doors remained closed, and somebody called out they didn't open the day, they were too busy taking care of the animals. While very understandable (I guess primarily...More

Is just down the track on the rainforest walking trail. They rescue flying foxes and help to rehabilitate the animals. Also provide some education on the animals and how they play a important part in the rainforest.

I went to Kuranda to see the birds and butterflies but found the Bat Reach to most interesting. It was so informative and interesting I didn't want to leave. I would go back to Kuranda again just to see more of Bat Reach.

Thanks for educating me. Bats are a keystone species in trouble! This place was the best thing at Kuranda national park. They don't charge a fee. A little hard to find small signs small place run by volunteers. Number 1 in my books.
