Very interesting Historical Marker to John Atherton was covered in rubbish and beer bottles. It is not signposted on the way into Mareeba, nor could I find a sign leading up to it in the street. Shame.

We actually stayed at the over 50's Central Caravan Park at Walkamin, which in it's own right was magnificent. However we made several trips to Mareeba and visited the R.S.L., the Town Information Centre, which you will have to see to believe. A full history...More

Drove up to Mareeba from Palm Cove. The road from Smithfield is very sharp with lots of bends until you get to the Kuranda turnoff. The market had everything you want from a local market held every 2nd and 5th Saturday. Locals were great and...More

We were advised to check out the coffee at Mareeba's coffee works and it didn't disappoint! We arrived too late for the tour but the coffee and hot chocolate were delicious; chunks of white and milk chocolate melted by warm milk making it the most...More
