There is nearly a 1km walk to the base of the falls, but it is well worth it. Large granite boulders with trees growing over the water make it very picturesque. There is also a side track to view the top of the falls.

A short trip out of Mareeba, along a washboard dirt track (nothing or economy rental couldn't handle), we were very glad to have made the journey to these falls and swim spots. Even when dry, some rocks are like ice, so tread carefully.

Yes it is make sure you take your swimmers & you will need runners to walk up to the falls. Worth the walk

Yes, dogs are allowed provided you clean up after them etc.
