One of the highlights to visiting Vienna, was to visit with our friend. The train ride to Winden was relaxing and enjoyable viewing the landscapes of the countryside. The time spent at the Hoepler Winery/Vineyard was a great informative experience. The presentation and passion expressed by Louise Hoepler for her wines were electrifying. The wines shared for our tasting embraced our taste buds.

After a short scenic train journey from Vienna, we spent the afternoon learning about Hoepler wines. Set in a beautiful environment, it was a most enjoyable few hours. The owners Christoph and Louise were welcoming and engaging and the wines were absolutely delicious. We will be back soon...

Certainly came away with a lot more than expected. Started with an interesting sensory experience followed by an informative wine tasting session. Our guide Louise was warm, lovely and also very well-versed in all things wine. Highly recommend this tour for everyone, wine aficionado or not. Even if not for the wine, visit for the lovely venue (45min drive from Vienna)!

We made a trip out to Winden am See to see the vineyards and the wine rooms of the Hoepler estate. An easy trip out on the train and some amazing views down to the lake looking towards the Hungarian border.
The wine rooms are in a property around an enclosed courtyard and the sensory tour of colours and smells is almost as good as the wine tasting. Only almost though as the wines are excellent and having the full mix of white, rose, red and dessert variations is the big bonus of this region.
Christoph and Louise are great hosts and their passion is clear given it is apparent that it is far harder to produce and market the wines than it for us to drink them!
Vienna is a great city to visit, but this is a wonderful trip to fit in and add to your memories of Austria. The wine is a very justifiable excuse for taking a few hours out in the countryside.

We took a trip out to visit the Hoepler winery whilst in Vienna and were very glad we did so. Christof and Louise have a real passion for their wines and are great hosts. We had a fascinating visit to their lovely wine rooms and the tasting showed what a wide range of excellent wines they produce. It’s an easy trip out and well worth it!

We came across a blog mentioning about Hoeplers’ wines and arranged for a visit via email. Glad we made the decision, as we had a much better knowledge of the region’s wines after our visit. Although there were only two of us, Louise kindly showed us around and shared about the different wines in the region. We greatly enjoyed ourselves and ended the tour by buying a bottle of blaufrankisch home. We will definitely recommend anyone to visit Hoeplers Weinraume if he/she wants to find out more about Austrian wines in the Burgenland region!

We discovered Höpler wines a few years ago through the Opimian wine club in Québec and have rapidly come to appreciate them. During a trip to Vienna, we paid a visit to the winery. Our guide, the lady Louise, greeted us with warmth, professionalism and passion. She proceeded to make us discover what makes Höpler wines special and worthy of appreciation. A holistic sensory experience awaits the visitor, who can see, touch, smell and hear about the wines and their different facets. Of course, the final touch lies in tasting the house’s various offerings, which is well worth the trip.
One can feel the everlasting passion that Jost Höpler has enrooted in his winery and which is still present today.
If you are in the neighbourhood, do drop by. You will be glad you did.

We had an intriguing and enlightening adventure into wine making with Louise Hoepler who fired an enthusiasm for wine in us all. My husband who had not expected to be so enthralled came away ecstatic about Hoepler wines!
These wines are beautifully crafted with delicious varieties to suit all palates. We just couldn't bring home as many different varieties as we would like. The car boot unfortunately limited our purchases.
I will seriously look for outlets in the U.K. for our next purchase of Hoepler wines.

Take a short train ride from Vienna to Winden Am See and walk five minutes to a fabulous wine tasting experience. You get a sensory walk through wine(pay special attention to the colours of wine, we've never seen anything like that before), which reflects the Hoepler's philosophy that wine is personal and your wine preferences are unique to you. The winery is charming and historic and you will come away with a much better understanding of the local grape varieties, the local wine industry, and the passion of winemaking told from the perspective of a family with a long, proud history of winemaking in the region. The wines are delicious and well crafted, with attention to detail for every variety and vintage. We got to taste most of the wines and it was difficult to choose what to fit into the suitcase. Ice wines, late harvest, red, white, oaked, unoaked, it's all there to explore at surprisingly affordable prices. As folks who have tasted wines all over the world, we rank this winery at the top for both the experience that they have created and the wine. Also nice places for lunch in the town, an outdoor art gallery and other wineries, so make a day of it!
