It's especially nice if you are familiar with Hames Thurber's works. But even as just a historical home Tour it was lovely. The guides have lots of stories to share.

This was one of the first places that we visited after arriving in Columbus. One can really get a sense of the history and culture of Ohio. Thurber house was part of the underground railroad and by touring the home, one could get a sense...More

As a lifelong fan of James Thurber this was a special treat. The staff is well informed and able to help with any questions. It was great to visit and see many of Thurber’s artifacts and literary inspirations.

Touring this house full of amazing Thurber memorabilia and stories of his life and times is really a treat not to miss. Easy parking and a welcoming staff make it even better. Stop by the gift shop--lots of fun Thurber inspired items.

We came here after it was closed, so we were only able to view the outdoor statues. I showed my kids a cartoon of "The Unicorn in the Garden" before we came so they'd recognize it. The unicorn is across the street with a plaque...More

Our tour was very casual - but hit a lot of the highlights of James life while his family lived at this house. The upstairs is filled with displays of his life and times, and next door is a small garden with several Thurber-dog statues.

We took the CBUS downtown and then walked about a mile to the Thurber House. This is just one of the houses the author's family lived in, but the one they rented while he attended Ohio State. Interestingly, this house and the others in the...More

We thought this was more like a house like the Kelton House, but were disappointed to find out most of the items are replicas, not originals. We didn't know who Thurber was so it was a bit confusing. We watched the video which is slightly...More
