NB: This museum is part of the Reciprocal Museum Program, so if you are a member of your local art museum, your membership may save you the entrance fee of c. $14. As one who has visited a large number of art museums, I can tell you that this is an excellent small museum for a rainy afternoon visit. The... More

This is a great place to explore at your own pace. You can reflect on your own interpretation of each of the artist works that are throughout the museum. They also have added on a new wing which is bright and inviting. A cafe is on the premises so you don't have to leave thus allowing you to spend hours... More

Be prepared to take your time, stroll through and enjoy the art, then stop for a great meal in the Schokko Art Cafe that looks out over the sculpture garden for a great meal. My vegetarian husband and my own strict diet were easily accommodated. It was a great way to spend an early afternoon. And Sundays are free!

The Columbus Museum of Art is a great, well-managed art museum with an interesting collection. I used to go there a lot when I lived in Columbus years ago. I happened to go back to Columbus for a visit in early November 2015, and the museum had just reopened after the addition of a new building (a modern art wing)... More

We originally went to the museum because they had a big billboard advertising Renoir paintings. A quick search online said it was an exhibit on Renoir's representation of women. When we got there, all excited about it, they looked at us as though we were crazy. Another look at the website said that the exhibit was in 2005. A docent... More

This museum just completed a major renovation. A new wing is connected to the older grande dame by atrium and skywalks. It was very well-done. The collection itself is interesting: not a lot of paintings from 18th and 19th century British and French, but a decent representation of Dutch work. The modern and post-modern collections are, however, very interesting and... More

CMOA may not be in the same league size wise as Chicago Art Institute but their smaller collection of paintings is very special and worthy of a trip through the new wing. The cafe is run by local food guru Cameron Mitchell so you cannot go wrong incorporating lunch into the time you schedule for this visit. Parking id free.... More

Admission is free on Sundays and that is when we happened to visit. It was great to see so many young parents with their kids. Many of the galleries had a kid-friendly activity on a table in the center of the room. For older kids, some of the wall labels had questions to discuss in addition to the info about... More

This is the perfect addition to the arts scene in Columbus. Free to see on any Sunday. Free parking also in convenient location by the new entrance. Wonderful cafe operated by a local culinary expert. The museum itself is a big city addition to a smaller venue. Excellent overall interests represented in all galleries. My favorite Picasso is in the... More
