Motor boat and canoe tours organized by "Bass Catch in Santa Clara" are the best way to enjoy Santa Clara-a-Velha Lake, with its magnificent views, dotted throughout with hidden inlets and islands. A boat trip is the most enjoyable way to really see how the lake fits in with the beauty of the surrounding countryside, so to get up "close and personal", a trip out in your own canoe can't be beaten - "Our canoes will get you to places other boats cannot reach!" Not surprisingly, Sport fishing can also be organized through "Bass Catch in Santa Clara", with Wide-mouth Bass and Carp the principal species of choice. With one of the largest lakes at your disposal there are plenty of accessible spots to choose from - situated just north of the Algarve, the lake itself has a circumference of 242 kms, but nowhere is it over half an hour away. Whether you be an experienced or novice fisherman, (we can supply all rods and tackle for the latter), "Bass Catch in Santa Clara" offers you the chance to be taken to the best places by local knowledgeable fishermen. We know the lake! We'll take you to where the fish are!

The house in the little village or the wooden house isolated in the middle of the lake are breathtaking! Great for "fishmaniacs" or family/couple escapes! Contact with nature is so pure and genuine and the hosts are simply the best!

We booked a fishing trip in the afternoon and it was great! Beatifull trip, lots of explanations about the dam and surrondings, and great snacks and cake at the fishing place. A wonderfull way to learn about the dam and Alentejo 😃.
