We did the trek from Ladmawphlong to Mawphlong. Simple trek. the slopes are easy to go up and down. Must take a guide. Very picturesque and great place for camping too. Carry water and snacks accordingly. Takes about 5 hours with decent pace through. Keep a transportation ready at the end. Visit to see it yourself.

As a completely unplanned trek, this turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Starting from Maphlang village which is about 20 odd kms away from Shillong, the trail skirts through some lovely nature, waterfalls, rivers and hills and ends about 14 kms away in Lad Maphlang. It takes about 3-5 hours to complete depending on walking speed and... More

Well this is a type of track where you hardly find any direction without any Guide.Although we traveled without a Guide but we managed to move with our own. The track leads to various ups & downs, flora & fauna etc. Its a very clean track. Try to avoid your plan during Monsoon as during this period you will hardly... More

The David Scott trail is an amazing trek for nature lovers. August is a really nice time to visit as nature is in its full bloom although it might be a little slippery at a few places so be a little careful. The trail can be started from either mawphlong where the sacred forest is also located or from Ladmawphlong.... More

The route starts from a village 22 km from Shillong(attached the map of the route) and you'll complete it at a different point. Its better to have an own vehicle. There is a charge of 200 Rs per group to do the trek. Its highly recommended you hire a guide who charge (1200 bucks) if I remember correctly. The trek... More

We went on a family trek on this trail (me, my wife and daughter - 10 years at this time) about a month back. The trail is ~ 16 km. Fairly easy trail with only one or two places where it climbs. The views are breathtaking, and very beautiful. When we went, the along the entire length of the trail,... More

Nature lovers paradise, finest place for trekking, amidst of nature. Path is not easy, recommended to go with local guide, as language is the barrier.

Exceptionally beautiful 16 km trail, right in the lap of nature, hill, forest, natural water crossings, treks, beautiful sun, wild flowers, chirping birds and cool breeze...what more one can ask for. Its an easy to moderately difficult trail. One must hire a local guide and have a clear idea of route to attempt this trail. Strongly recommended for any one... More
