Nice scenic falls, very well maintained by the authorities, you have a to climb down a few stairs to reach the base. But the view is amazing, Bathing is not allowed.

Elephant falls is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit in Shillong. Even during winter when the region receives very low to no rainfall, it still has quite a good volume of water. It has been divided into three steps for viewing and the lowest point is the largest and the most beautiful. A must visit place.

Beautiful Falls. Very soothing. The water fall falls in three layers. Elephant Falls gets its name from a rock that was in the shape of an elephant which was located just near the 3rd falls but unfortunately it got destroyed in the earthquake of 1897.

This is a small fall in three layers. A good spot for photo-shoot ,But before you reach this spot, you will have to take many steps, may not be suitable for the elderly and for those having difficulty in climbing .

Easily accessible from town and it was packed on Sunday evening. The place however is just like any other tourist place in India, hawkers, bit size restaurants and a lot to be said about cleanliness. The falls by themselves are a good place, the first fall is close by and the second and third falls are a steep climb down.... More
