DON'T MISS THIS TEMPLE...
Apr 2018 • Solo
This Temple is situated right at the back. Side of kamakshi Amman Temple..
This Temple also has the name "Kali Kottam" - since mother parvati was here once in the form of Kali.
There Is a Sakthi lingam in this Temple..
This lingam has the face of mother parvati.. Hence it is also called as "Arthanareeswara Lingam".
Sapatha kanniyar, Durga devi, Annapoorani matha are also seen in the outer praharam of this Temple.
Sri chakra yantra is in this shrine to make mother calm after killing the demons and save the Devas..
A neat, powerful, vibrational place to worship and make your prayers..

Feeling peaceful
Dec 2018 • Couples
This temple is more than 1000 years old. It is in a walking distance from the Kamakshi Amman temple. The day we went, there was no crowd. We could have darshan of the Ambaal for a quite a reasonable time. Contrast to such a huge crowd at Kamakshi Amman temple, here it was so peaceful and serene atmosphere. No entry fee.

Adi Kamakshi Temple – A serene pilgrimage
Jan 2018 • Family
Located in the historic city of Kanchipuram, the Adi Kamakshi Temple manifests the unique merciful face of Mother Adi Kamakshi sitting in a majestic Padmasana posture signifying peace and prosperity. The mythology of the legendary Daksha yagna and Mother Sati's self-immolation is the main theme of the temple and it is believed that a divine body part of the Goddess has fallen here – the Goddess, therefore, is known here by several names. There is a Shakti Lingam with the face of Goddess Ambica that is also known as Ardhanareeswara Lingam.

The temple is widely believed to have been built by the Pallava dynasty and the Adi Guru Shankaracharya re-established the Sri Chakra in this temple, which is originally believed to have been established by Sage Durvasa – the first Puja in the temple is performed to the Sri Chakra.

An aura of divinity and peace surrounds the temple, especially in the evenings – a must visit for the faithfuls!

Original Kamakshi Amman temple now as Adhi Peeta Parameswari temple
Apr 2017 • Family
On 1st Apr'17, myself along with my mom & Vijaya Chitti visited Adhi Kamakshi Amman temple. It was the Original Kamakshi Devi temple now known as Adhi Peeteswari or Adhi Peeta Parameswari temple.

There are shrines for Madaleeswarar Lingam, Saptha Kannikas (seven virgins), Nagar, Mahishasuramardhini in the prakara-corridor. There is also the sculpture of Mother Annapoorani. Mother Veerya Lakshmi, once in the sanctum is in a separate shrine now. We had great dharshan of all the deities at the temple & Offered our humble prayers !!

Nice Old Temple
Jul 2017 • Family
This is located near to the Bus stop and Railway station. It is well maintained.Devas, a privileged community in the upper world came to Earth and prayed Mother Ambica to protect them from the harassment of the demons. As Mother was furious during Her war with the demons, to calm her down from the fury, the Sri Chakra was installed in the temple. Mother was named Adi Kamakshi.Normally It opens from 6to 11 am,4to 8pm.
