Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Idolio a.k.a. the "museumshop" filled with many beautifull items from all over Europe and some other continents from ancient till present artforms and a litle from inbetween as well.
Spread over two buildings they find the right balance to expose the temporary, modern and ancient artwork in different styles, materials.Icons, worrybeads, jewellery, sculptures and glasart in many sizes and forms, many of those things one expects to see in museums instead of a shop in the middle of a popular touristresort.I was plesantly surprised to find out that the owner Mr Andreas Nikas and his wife Ms mariaTabouratzi have some of the "collection" for themselves to enjoy and the rest to sale to be able to collect more beautiful pieces of artwork in the near future. They're always there to help people to get what they really want and will enjoy for times to come instead of making a quick sale and cashing in and be done with it.
I've never had the pleasure of entering a world from which i thought only existed in my dreams,to find out such a place exists was like dream come true.I'm quiet possitive that many other people will be able to have the same experience as i have when having visited Idolio a.k.a "the museumshop".

I visited Crete 5 times, no matter where in Crete I stayed I certainly returned to this amazing place (it seems to be a shop but I really can't name it as such). Anyone who enters it keeps a large smile and feels mesmerized long after leaving the place- so many little treasures, or not so little works of art, the overall feeling, the atmosphere created by the owners, it's such a place of beauty! And most important of all- the owners themselves, I never in my life felt more welcomed, anywhere; such beautiful and pleasant people, I can't wait to meet them again, someday. Even after a couple of years they recognize their clients and greets them as long time friends. And the feeling is mutual.

A wonderful little gem in the among tourist shops along the main road of Hersonissos. Idolio Gallery has so many different items crammed into the store you could spend all afternoon just wandering looking at all the different items they have.
There are antique Byzantine icons, bronze, glass, stones, modern and classic art in addition to jewellery.
I purchased a hand painting on glass by Anactacia G in which she uses both gold and silver foil. There was just so much I fell in love with, I could have spent ALL of my money in this one shop!

We visited en route elsewhere, but made a special stop here as we'd seen such good reviews on TripAdvisor. On entering, nobody approached us or said hello (which is fine, but not given what happened later) and we started browsing. I pulled out my phone to look at a message I had just received, and a lady appeared at my shoulder saying "no photos", without so much as a "hello". I said that was fine and that I wasn't taking photos (which she could clearly see as she could see my phone screen open on text messages, being stood right next to me). She stood there silently waiting until I put my phone back in my pocket, then backed off a couple of paces. We glanced round the rest of the gallery/shop, but felt quite unwelcome at that point and left. I completely understand a no photos policy, however the delivery was rude and completely put us off browsing what looks like an interesting little place.

I really enjoyed this shop as it was full of unique items and not the typical touristy shop. You must go check it out if you like original or unusual peices.

My daughter & myself had seen the great reviews on this shop & were keen to visit - HOWEVER WE LEFT QUICKLY.
On entering we were approached by a blonde lady who may have been the owner. She asked if she could help us, which in itself was not a problem, but when I told her that we wanted to have a look around she continued to follow us, looking over our shoulders to the point of rudeness. We felt very uncomfortable & left.
It's a pity because the shop was well stocked with interesting & unusual things & we may have made a purchase given half a chance.
We will not be back!!

I visited this beautiful gallery shop this afternoon. The owner Maria was so helpful, she treated me like family. She cares for people, not just selling, she gives a special service and genuinely wants people to buy items they connect with. I bought the most beautiful aquamarine pair of earrings, hand carved silver framed art, plus other gifts for Christmas presents. This is a shop to cater for the more discerning traveller, hand made amazing art and crafts from local artists and ones from Greece are displayed, all are made from the highest quality materials, most made from Gold, Silver, Glass with natural gem stones. It was a pleasure to find so many beautiful things in one place. Susan the assistant is also extremely kind and wraps everything securely and can post worldwide if preferred. Well worth a visit to this enchanting gallery.

All of the restaurants have to be tried - if you have the time - this one excelled itself as did the others.
