We had a wonderful family day at Pensthorpe today and would highly recommend it. 2 adults, 2 seniors and 2 under 8 and we all came away saying what an amazing place it was. The sunshine helped but the birds were great, and the kids play areas (both inside and outside) were wonderful. Thanks for a lovely day and looking forward to going back when we are next in the area.

We are a group of 49 older people and were dubious as the park seems to advertise itself as a place for children. How wrong we were! It was amazing and we found we had not allowed enough time to see everything. The birds, including those in the aviary and the flamingoes, cranes and water birds were all fascinating. There is also and excellent cafe and shop. This should be advertised with less emphasis on the children's adventure playground and more about the wildlife. Superb.

Today we visited Pensthorpe for the first time and wow, we were really impressed. Lovely place, lovely walks and Great for Kids, the play area is amazing.. especially loved the obstacle course ropes. Didn’t visit the indoor play area as we were so occupied outside but it looked just as amazing! Cafe was great, reasonably priced and really quick service. A full fun day out! We will definitely be returning!

We had such an amazing time! The kids didn't stop running around having fun from the minute we got there. There is so much to do, we had children ranging from 2-10 years old and they all really enjoyed it. Beautiful walks with beautiful views, doing the golden egg treasure hunt as we walked round. A lovely day out for the whole family. We will definitely be back 😊

Pensthorpe Nature Park is a very pleasant place to visit … Lots of trails around the park lead to various lakes and bird hides where you can stop off and watch the birds and wildlife in an unspoiled environment … Nice gift shop too … Well worth a visit

I haven’t been to Pensthorpe since I was a kid, and let me tell you, it is so much better than I remember! The indoor and outdoor play areas are incredible! Add this to the natural and manicured areas of the park, and you have a wonderful family environment for a full day out.

This is a wonderful place. Plenty of hides through which to explore wildlife. We visited in March which isn't the best month to come but it was peaceful and beautiful and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Cafe is also lovely. If you like walking, woods, wildlife, this is the place for you. I imagine it is quite stunning in late spring/summer.

My Husband and I visited with our daughter and son aged under 2 and had a wonderful day out. There was lots for us to do and our toddler went for a nap in the afternoon when we went for a long walk round the lake.
Our only concern was the Covid safety of the indoor and outdoor play areas - where there were a lot of people. We stayed away from these areas. Service at the cafe was quick and friendly during this half term week.

Thanks for posting your review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your visit. I note your concerns regarding measures in place in the indoor and outdoor play areas. Whilst there are no capacity restrictions in the outdoor areas across the park we do still have restrictions within Hootz House, our indoor play area. Capacity is limited to less than 60% of pre-Covid levels, where we limit numbers to a maximum of 100 visitors within the building. Even then we invite all adults to wear face masks whilst in the building if they are not eating or drinking. We are aware that some, quite justifiably, are concerned when visiting venues which are busy thus why we still offer timed arrival slots to minimise queuing. We also ask visitors to wear face masks when ordering in the Café. Hopefully the measures in place provide a good level of assurance that we are still very aware of our responsibilities ensuring that a visit to Pensthorpe is a safe day out. Thanks again for taking the time to post your comments. Hopefully we will see you again very soon.

In spite of some heavy rain and thunder we had a lovely time at this beautiful place. There is a lot to see and a lot of it is wheelchair accessible. I borrowed a wheelchair to use as a walker but they also have electric scooters to hire.

Most of the ducks I had never heard of. It was good to see the red squirrels but they are too fast to photograph! I saw a water vole. We went into a hide during the thunderstorm and really enjoyed the birds that we saw from there but the door was too narrow to get the wheelchair through so had to leave it outside in the rain. The sculptures are lovely to see too.

The cafe is very nice - everything nicely presented. A lovely gift shop too which is getting ready for Christmas.

We were there after 4pm as the sun was going down - the grass garden was all golden - a lovely sight. If we lived in this area we would purchase a yearly ticket as there would be something to see all year round.

Thanks for the great review flowerlady64. Its so good to hear that you enjoyed your visit. I do note your comment regarding the width of the entrance at one of our hides. Hopefully this didn't spoil the day too much. As they are renewed, we are making sure that they are fully accessible so will continue this work until completed. Hopefully we will see you again when you are next visiting this beautiful county.
