    Delightful spa
A lovely little spa, great pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Treatment was perfect. Staff helpful and friendly. Food and drinks quite expensive, but I guess it's spa prices. Only negative there is no lounges by the pool, was quite busy and all wicker chairs were taken. Lounges would be ideal for the ultimate relaxation

    AMAZING
I’ve just had the most relaxing day at the Gainsborough health club and spa. From start to finish it was just lovely!! I’m a massage therapist myself so I was really in need of a good massage and I wasn’t disappointed!! I didn’t want the treatment to end!! I had Lucy who was exceptional but all the therapists including the host were really lovely and couldn’t do enough for me and my friends. I’ve come home feeling the most relaxed I have in a long time, so thank you so so much !! I will definitely be back!!

    A day of pure relaxation!
Amazing experience at The Gainsbourgh Spa. Myself & 2 friends booked a day package. My therapist Lucy was incredible. I had a full body massage followed by a mini facial & head massage. We all loved our treatments. The relation room was very comfy & super cosy. The other facilities, the pool, jacuzzi & steam room were amazing too with the most stunning views. Highly recommend!

    Star staff & Facilities
The spa and gym are amazing! Always clean and most staff are friendly and cannot do enough to help, especially a staff named “Alex”. She welcomed me and was a brilliant help throughout my time in the gym. Brilliant customer service & fab facilities

    good
Amazing setting. Friendly staff and a very warm welcome. Wasn't made aware that our food (lunch) order hadn't been placed just before lunchtime !! (its out sourced). Treatment was really good and loved the relaxation room. Think there should be a time limit to jacuzzi . All in all enjoyed my visit. Will be using my complimentary pass. xx

Lovely spa but never have a pedicure
The spa is in a lovely setting with only peacocks disturbing the silence. The spa facilities were excellent and clean and the ambiance calm and peaceful. However they missed two stars because I booked a full pedicure with gel and apart from my feet being sprayed with disinfectant before the treatment it’s the ONLY pedicure out of hundreds I’ve had where they didn’t even wet my feet let alone put them in a bowl of soapy water!!!! Disgusting and this spoilt the overall experience. I mentioned this at the reception when asked about our experience a woman sitting behind the receptionist said “that’s because you had gel and it affects the gel adhering to the nail” no apology or anything!! what nonsense as I’ve been having gel pedicure for 10 years and always had my feet washed first

    Simply a perfect day! 💗
Such a lovely little spa with friendly staff. I spent the day here with my daughter, it was exactly what was needed. A peaceful day with Prosecco, cake, lots of laughing and having all our needs met. The whole experience was good from the warm welcome right through to our amazing treatments. All facilities are clean and well maintained. The pool and jacuzzi were just perfect. I’ve been to many spas in my time, this is definitely a firm favourite of mine. 💕 Percy the peacock was an added bonus to our perfect day. Thank you team Gainsborough Health Club and Spa. X

    Ok, not great
Been here twice now in the last few months as was bought day spa vouchers as a gift. Although pleasant, on both visits we had left by early afternoon. Once you have done a swim, jacuzzi, steam and sauna, there is hardly anywhere to lounge. Hardly any seating around the pool and the relaxation room only has 6 beds. No extra towels on offer. My robe on the first visit was so small , felt like sandpaper and had holes in, although on my second visit my robe was much better. Treatments were nice, although had to go and find them for one as we were left waiting. Do not feel staff are overly professional: was waiting a while for our table to be cleaned down in the cafe, then three staff just stood in the kitchen area close by chatting and one started filing/buffing her nails!! Lunch time in the staffroom next to the cafe become very loud, didn’t have the peaceful tranquil atmosphere we were hoping for. I feel this is more a health club if you have a gym membership rather than a day spa. I have been on far better spa days elsewhere. Bit disappointing as this is on my doorstep. I do hope these small improvements can be made.

Amazing service. Beautiful property. Seamless check in and keen eye for detail, quality and luxury. Nothing was too much and made my partners 30th birthday, best hotel in the southwest, hands down

A superb place. Nice and quiet and out of the way. An old barn (i think) converted to a swimming pool etc.

I had a massage from the very excellent Amelia which left me zoned out for a good few hours - it was superb!

Even before we arrived the staff here could not have been more accommodating. As a bigger group they shuffled and reshuffled our treatments to suit us. We booked a seasonal spa day with two treatments. It’s unheard of to get over 2 hours of treatments on a spa day package, it was excellent value.
The staff were super friendly, the venue is small and intimate but the way they move guests around made it feel like we had the place to ourselves a lot of the time. Everywhere was lovely and clean. The steam room and sauna spacious.
The relaxation room was so comfortable.
The only tiny negative - that we knew before we went - was the lack of ability to ‘lounge’ around the pool. It was not a problem - we just chilled in the relaxation room.
Afternoon tea was delicious, the biggest scones I have ever seen! It was a basic level AT but well baked and more than enough.
The treatments- we did the mud chamber - this was DIY but still a lovely relaxing treatment which left my skin super soft,
The second treatment was a 75 min massage and facial, it was one of the best treatments I have ever had! So relaxing and Amy was superb. Just the right amount of pressure and the facial was just wonderful.
This spa does not have all the bells and whistles of the bigger hotel spas but the friendly staff and excellent treatments more than make up for it.
We will definitely return.

Disappointed. This was a Serenity Spa day for 2 with afternoon tea and a pedicure. The pedicure consisted of my feet going in warm water. Dried then nails filed and painted. Then some cream massaged in. No nail cutting. Pretty basic.
The pool area is very small no sun loungers around it, hardly any space to sit and relax.
Afternoon tea basic. Dried corners on the bread. Over loaded with cakes. Sticky table.
The mud treatment you have to do yourself- we didn’t end up bothering. Plus you are given a towel with your gown which obviously gets wet and I think they expect you to use this the whole time. There are no fresh towels about. Had to ask at reception for fresh ones.
The small relaxation lounge has just 6 beds- would be nice for a bit of mood music in there.
Wouldn’t go again. Not value for money and pretty basic.

I have been to many spas in Suffolk, but NOTHING beats The Gainsborough- the staff are so welcoming and lovely. Lucy gave me the best massage, facial and scalp massage that I have ever had.
