Well worth visiting. A lovely small museum with a great atmosphere. You can tell it has been put together by people who really enjoy sharing their local history and who have taken pride in their displays. A must see if you are in Felixstowe along with the Fort next floor.

Felixstowe museum, sandwiched between Landguard point fort and the Port viewing area, and easily missed. What a great little museum, staffed by friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers. To be honest if people could see what was in it beforehand, they could charge much more than the token £2 that they do. Its a real bargain, and so many different subjects... More

Thanks so much for a great review and your kind words - we like to keep our admission prices completely affordable but will never say 'no' to anyone popping something in the donation box. We love it that you're encouraging others to pay us a vist after viewing the ships in the port! Sunday (30th Oct) will be our final... More

This is a fine example of an utterly unspoilt collection - assembled by and cared for by people with great passion who are warmly welcoming, and enthusiastic about their exhibits. It is a very moving record of human endeavour, housed in a warren of rooms, and full of surprises and objects of interest. Thoroughly recommended.

Wow, thanks so much for your warm and positive review! It makes an immense difference to all of us when people recommend the museum to others and when they appreciate the efforts made by past and present volunteers to bring to life the varied history of the Felixstowe peninsula. Thank you. More

This super museum is housed in a former Royal Engineer submarine mining building, with loads of eclectic exhibits to look at. Entry cost £5 for a family of 4 and was a great way to escape from miserable weather for a couple of hours. There was an "owl hunt" for the children when we visited, with a lollypop prize at... So pleased you sheltered from weather and enjoyed your visit to our museum the other day! Sorry we can't offer public toilets on site but those at the Visitors' Centre are available to everyone and, thankfully, not so far away. Thanks for taking the time to send in your lovely review and, if the children are keen, consider bringing them... More

My husband and I visited the museum on Sunday afternoon and had a great time. The volunteers are so helpful and full of knowledge and there is so much to see that we had to have a tea break in the little cafe before we finished all the rooms! Great job!

We really enjoyed our visit to this museum. There is so much to see. Admission is only £2 . There are limited opening hours so check before you go . We went on 77 bus from Felixstowe town, they run every hour but there is car parking at the site. The museum is run by a team of very friendly... More

Thanks for giving us such an excellent review and for including tips to the TripAdvisor community about visiting us. It's always a delight to us when our visitors show so much interest and generously offer us their stories, knowledge, experience and, in your case, reference material about another local photographer. Most of all, however, it's great to know that our... More

Had a very enjoyable time at the museum, lots of interesting historical items to see. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was well worth the £2 entrance fee. I thoroughly recommend a visit here.

Entrance only £2. You are given an itinerary to follow, and it ensures you see everything, and have something to read about it all. There are also volunteers in most rooms more than willing to answer any questions and tell all about everything. The items are all well displayed, well kept, and well labelled. A pleasure to attend.
