We had stopped in Needham briefly and it coincided with lunchtime. We thought The Swan would be ok, looked nice from the outside. Pleasant staff and interior. Large table to ourselves and a few people in for lunch. We had a reasonable wait to have our drinks order taken, then a much longer wait for the drinks to arrive and the food order to be taken. We ordered the macaroni cheese with garlic bread and salad, and a curry with naan that you pay extra for. It took a very long time (almost an hour!) for our food to arrive. Far too long for a pub that wasn't that busy from our perspective. We could only surmise that maybe they were short staffed as everything took so long to be done. I was rather underwhelmed by the small piece of garlic bread that looked like it had been ripped in half, I'm guessing the other half went on someone else's plate! The salad was ok, if you like onion as everything tasted of onion. Apparently the curry was quite tasty and spicy. I have to say the macaroni cheese was lovely but I ended up sharing the naan to make up for not much garlic bread. The naan bread was delicious. Things could have been a lot better here, and please tell the customer if there's a long wait as they can then make an informed choice, instead of asking where their food is after an hour. We wouldn't choose to come here again based on this. Cleanliness seemed good 👍

I’ve lived in Needham Market my whole life and have been coming here for years on and off. Recently me and my sister and some friends and have been so happy with the service and food! A live singer on Sunday. Great table service and the lunch was incredible. Really friendly staff here at the moment! Thanks a lot

Nice pub,But if you’re black or mixed race be prepared to be stared at like you’ve just arrived from the moon by the manager. I mean a really puzzled look on his face. Twice this has happened to me now, and you know if I would have asked him why the puzzled look I’d be the aggressor.Unfortunate🤔
