If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

Like stepping back to the victorian era this pier is worth a visit. You will not find candy floss or modern amusement arcades here. there are a couple of cafes and a restaurant on the pier which are of good quality. There is an old fashioned amusement place showing victorian pieces. Great views of Southwold from the end of the... More

Restaurant and items in the shops are very over-priced. The walk on the pier is free, but would never pay if charge was introduced.

Although this is quite a small nice pier with no charge like many others. It's not a long pier or really has a lot happening on it. There are a couple of shops which are totally over priced. You can buy the same goods cheaper else where. It's a shame because I didn't see many people making purchases. However, it... More

Whilst visiting Southwold, you have to enjoy the delights of the pier and enjoy the food and activities on this rebuilt pier. Great views back to Southwold and along the coast.

The pier may not be the biggest but it is full of old fashioned charm. When wandering along the pier you can take in the mechanical sculptures including wonderful clock in the middle. There's a wall of mirrors, the "Under the Pier" show restaurants and more. On a beautiful day it was well worth the visit

A unique place. The "Under the pier show" is like no other slot machine attraction in the country. The restaurant is good for fish, and the famous clock performs on the hour - though it could do with a little tlc at the moment.

We held our wedding reception in the Boardwalk restaurant, but had access to the Arcade after it had closed to the public. The Pier is owned by one company and it really shows - no competition, it all looks and works great together. It's a really special place and I love visiting, it's a lovely traditional pier with enough to... More

A traditional pier with some fascinating and intriguing attractions including homemade (and weird!) amusements and a quantum telescope that added some old fashioned charm to the place. Lovely ice cream too!

We walked along pier, had a coffee, looked in shops, watched the clock in action and then looked at the machines.

It can be cold and windy on the pier so wrap up. Try to time your visit for the hour to see the clock in action - though this isn't easy as it was running 15 mins fast today.the clock is based on the best bathroom humour and will therefore amuse all visitors! Unless money is no object, find somewhere... More
