I love Egerton Park. The park is well kept and has a lovely calming feel. I enjoy coming here with a book to relax. There’s also great play areas for children and a kiosk serving food and drinks (open in good weather). Bexhill museum is located in the outskirts of the park and is well worth a visit too. I feel it’s another jewel in Bexhill’s crown and I’m proud we have such a lovely park.

    Lovely volunteer gardeners!
We wandered into the gardens by chance and loved the lake and pretty gardens. What made our visit though, was talking to the interesting volunteers who look after the blue-walled areas of gardens. Such a mixture of colours and sensory plants to experience. Thank you to all the lovely volunteers!

I was staying very close to Egerton Park but it wasn't somewhere I was particularly thinking of spending much time in. The very excellent museum is just in front of the park and I was hoping to visit that, not realising it was closed on a Monday...so I wandered into the park instead. It is really a lovely park and I ended up spending three hours there (!) because the weather was hot and sunny and I had something to read. I think you can do a long circular walk around the entire park. There were two swans and plenty of ducks on the pond and you can buy suitable duck food from the park cafe for £1 a bag, which is split-maize that the gulls will not go for. There are plenty of seats and a couple of shelters. There is a play area with equipment that looks really good....and other interesting features around the park, such as a wooden bridge and wooden sculptures. The staff at the cafe were really helpful and friendly....and they sell a very tasty vegan sausage roll to have with your coffee. I should point out that the park is at a lower level than the road and there are a number of steps; however, I think there were four or five different entrances and some of these had a more gradual slope for access.

Great place for a walk with the dog and most dog owners pick up after their pooches….sadly many do not!
