- Travel_addict13_10652 contributionsVery cute and enjoyableWe loved this cafe so much we returned. It is a great way to introduce children to the wonders of Winnie the Pooh and friends. As adults, we also enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Some very good merchandise for sale. We enjoyed our very good hot chocolates. Both salad and scones were enjoyable. A nice atmosphere with friendly helpful staff.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 7 January 2023
- mddyyWinchester, United Kingdom15 contributionsDelicious food and super cute cafe!We loved it here! Parking was easy and free on the main high street road. We arrived as the cafe opened at 11am, and were seated really quickly by the friendly staff. We loved the themeing - from the teapots to table numbers to plates to even the shape of the toast, everything is Pooh bear! We also ordered the Ploughmans which was great as a vegetarian and the jacket potato, with so much filling! We loved how traditional it was, with vintage teacups and all the artwork! The museum and shop are also really sweet to look around. We will definitely be returning, thank you! The owners were so lovely and even gave us a map and directions to Pooh bridge. You can tell how much effort has gone into Pooh Corner and how proud the owners are of it; we loved it <3 (the free honeypots were also a super cute touch!)Visited February 2023Written 20 February 2023
- Keely R2 contributionsWhat's not to loveWent to Pooh Corner for lunch today. All the staff were absolutely wonderful, very friendly and helpful.. Was busy but did not wait long for our order to be taken and also brought to our table. The food is amazing and the cakes are so scrummy....make sure your leave room to have a slice. Lots of wonderful Pooh and friends items to see and the Poohseum is amazing. Highly recommended. Will be back 😊Visited February 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 March 2023
- nikkif17Nottingham, United Kingdom228 contributionsLack lustreVisited here for afternoon tea as a birthday treat whilst we were on holiday in the area, and I am a lifelong fan of all things Pooh bear. To be honest I was a little disappointed, I expected to be surrounded by Pooh bear at every turn but there was nothing in the tearoom bar the crockery. The “museum” was a very small area, there were some interesting facts and artefacts there but just not much of it. The shop was disappointing, really expected something special but there wasn’t much choice and there was nothing I haven’t seen in your normal garden centres or gift shops. The afternoon tea was generous portions but there were some quirky food choices. Mushroom pate and cheese scones with peppers etc. The unexpected addition of a jelly was very refreshing and a good palette cleanser. Would have expected Victoria sponge too. Sadly our tastes are quite simple so we took quite a bit home, as we would have preferred plain, traditional afternoon offerings. Having said that, I am so glad we visited. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world but it didn’t quite live up to expectations I’m afraid.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 March 2023
- Lefleur2015Limassol City, Cyprus22 contributionsAmazing!A great spot! A must for any Winnie the Pooh fans! Unfortunately you can’t make reservations but this did not affect us. We arrived and staff swiftly informed us a table would be ready soon. We were happy to wait in the sunshine. Once seated the menu was full of variety and we were served quickly. The food was great and all served on Winnie the Pooh crockery which was a nice touch. Attached for tea room is a mini museum and gift shop full of some little bits. Overall a lovely spot, would definitely visit again.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 April 2023
- MorgsL15 contributionsAmazing!!Booked the afternoon tea during the week and it was the best experience ever. Great selection of tea and coffee to complement the delicious food. Everyone who worked there was so friendly, the poohseum was great and they even gave us a map to find Poohs house in the forest. Would definitely recommend.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 May 2023

- Michelle W1 contributionA must for all Pooh fans of all agesWhat a fantastic place. Set in Ashdown Forest. You can see how the stories came to life. We think this is a must for all Pooh fans, whatever your age. Lovely tea rooms. Dog friendly. We had some delicious toasties & tea in the garden. The gift shop has beautiful things to buy but also lots of lovely photos showing the story of Pooh & the 100 Acre Wood. Lovely family ran business. So pleased we found this & we had a lovely time. The owner very kindly provided map & directions to get to Pooh Sticks Bridge, Owl & Piglets House & Roos sandpit. We’ve had a lovely day. Thank you. Highly recommendedVisited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 June 2023
- gluSaint Louis, Missouri168 contributionsQuintessential English Restaurant with a treasure trove of Winnie the Pooh historyPooh Corner-Hartfield is a delightful restaurant with friendly staff that treats you like family. The garden patio is a lovely place to enjoy peach iced tea with fresh scones. If you prefer a heartier fare, portion sizes are generous, the food is tasty, and the Pooh cakes are scrumptious. More importantly, adjacent to the restaurant is the whimsical Poohseum. Owners Sam & Neil have curated a unique collection of artifacts from the Milne Family as well as a multitude of Winnie the Pooh memorabilia. Rare, vintage stuffed characters from the 100 Acre Woods fill a museum case. Pooh-coo-clocks line a wall. Movie posters from multiple countries decorate the inside cafe. Disney branded Pooh collectibles include early Disney as well as contemporary Disney representations. First edition books live in the same area as the newest Pooh themed baby books. Current Pooh merchandise is also available for sale. It is obvious the owners have a deep commitment to preserving the historical legacy of the Milne Family and their famous friends in the 100 Acre Woods. Casual Pooh fans will be entertained, but serious Pooh fans will be moved to tears. This is a must see for anyone who admires the Bear of Very Little Brain.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 June 2023

We popped in when passing as we had never visited before. The staff greeted us warmly and showed us to a table next to the front window. We had coffee/ pot of tea and fresh home cooked scones with jam and cream. The whole experience was excellent, impeccable cleanliness throughout and the scones were delicious. The coffee was as good as any professional coffee shop I’ve had thank you.

Seriously loved every moment here - lovely service, great food and the most fantastic decorations!
Staff went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful and we had the best time.
Museum is a lovely add on and we really enjoyed the learning the history in there and buying lots of goodies from the gift shop!

I visited with my family & saw another couple with a young child she was very well behaved & quite lovely. We went to the tea rooms & witnessed a horrible display of racism. The family were Romani it turned out and they were refused a table for no reason. We were appalled that any adult would spoil a child's treat in this way. I was embarrassed at the bigotry & lack of compassion & to see this young child in tears. I will never visit again. It was cruel beyond cruel !

Pooh Corner is our favourite tea rooms. Really lovely staff, reasonably-priced and delicious food, a lovely tea garden, and a welcoming vibe. The decor is quirky and interesting, and the tea room is a welcome place to stop and have a break. Excellent vegan choices too.

We had a lovely time when there however this was all eclipsed by witnessing staff treating a man and young girl terribly for what we can only assume was because they were Romani? Should be ashamed at how they presented themselves and what view on the world they have given that little girl.

Witnessed a family be turned away due to their ethnicity yesterday. A little girl and her father and mother were told they would not be served and were told they were rude for asking for whether the tea room was still serving food. They were asked to leave and the little girl was left in tears. Ruined our day seeing this and I can’t believe this behaviour still exists in 2023

This is a racist tea shop. Turning away a little Romani girl and her father. They don’t deserve anyone’s custom.

Does Pooh Corner (shop) accept card, or is it cash only? Also, is it best to visit before or after going to the forest/poohs bridge?
Neil Reed
Hartfield, UK51 contributions
Hi there, Neil the owner of Pooh Corner here. We take all cards except Amex. As for travelling around the area. Many people come beforehand, have a bite to eat and grab a map before heading off, and just as many enjoy popping in after their visit to the 100 Acre Wood. I don’t think there is a right or wrong to be honest :)

I will be staying in London this summer and would love to go here as well as visit the forest with my family. How would you recommend getting to both places from London. We weren't planning on renting a car.

Travel details can found at Pooh Corner's website.
But many of the attractions in the woods such as Pooh Bridge are a ten min drive away from Pooh Corner.

Is the walk suitable for a pram ?

It's not ideal. We always left the buggy in the car. If it's been raining certain areas can be really muddy. If you can avoid taking it, I would. Otherwise make sure you go when it has been dry for a while and be aware it can be a bit of a ramble so make sure you wear decent walking footwear.

No, it's just a sweet little place to drop into. There are outdoor tables for when the weather is warmer. If there isn't a table when you get there you won't have to wait long. It's just a little tea room at the back of the shop.
