I have visited this house many times. The interior is beautiful and has been restored to a good standard.. There are 'shows', plays and events held. Concerts outside, an opera inside. The grounds are extensive. There are several carthorses which give rides by pulling a cart. The stables area has also been restored, with a gift shop, second hand books,... More

Situated in lovely grounds. Great building. Can get a snack and coffee there. Dogs can get a drink and rest up. Can also walk around the neat gardens and feed the ducks.

First time to this venue for a wedding. Its a lovely location, even on a cold frosty day in January but at least the sun was shining. The Wedding Ceremony was lovely and went off ok. We were then asked to go into a room for speeches which seemed strange since these things are usually done over the meal. We... More

The house is beautiful but its the grounds that are exceptional. Lovely place to take the kids for a picnic and then let them loose on the fantastic playground. My grandson loves it here. Good range of facilities, toilets, snack bar and restaurant.

Having worked over Christmas for the last 37 years l am well aware what it is like to have your nose to the festive grindstone whilst others are at home with their feet up but l do think that Hylands House could have made a bit more effort on Boxing Day. I remember in years past visiting with my elderly... More

Xmas craft fair, awful, cost £2.80 to get in, stalls were expected to be about Xmas. Unfortunately, same old, same old things, old fashioned dough figures, calligraphy, Knitting for small people, wood turned bowls etc, been before and always managed to find some unusual gifts but sadly not this time. Needs to be brought up to date, 2016 not 1980.... More
