Oaklands Park is a great park to meet with friends. It has a lovely grassy area for children to play football and they have a little area for small children to play in. Cafe is a little expensive but Staff are friendly and coffee tastes good. Toilets clean. I would go there again and I would recommend it to my friends.…

We spent a couple of hours in the Chelmsford Museum and were pleasantly surprised at how very well done it was. Originally part of a historic manor house with a new modern addition, the museum features interesting displays of the centuries of history in the Chelmsford area. The importance of the engineering industry from Marconi's wireless factory that led to the ability of radio operators on the Titanic to seek assistance to a ball bearing factory that made the city a target for German bombers in WW II, the displays were excellent. It was also interesting to read the plaques leading into rooms in the manor house describing what they were originally used for before they became exhibit areas. The large park around the museum was clearly a draw for families and dog walkers.…

Fantastic few hours checking out the Chelmsford city museum. Exhibits most enlightening and some very familiar as we got up to modern days, interactive screens of the market place through the ages was very interesting, especially The part where we live ..how it’s changed. Definitely worth a revisit in the warmer and drier weather to explore the grounds …
