About
Welcome to your new-look Curlew. We've been fully redesigned and refurbished. The interior is spacious and beautiful. Looking more like a traditional pub, we have captured the heritage and charm of a traditional pub but with a modern colour scheme and heritage lighting. We now offer more seating, a multi use restaurant, a wider range of drinks and pool table. We are now a family run, family friendly, community pub. Positioned in the centre of a community, we aim to be the beating heart. We welcome everyone. Alongside our famous Shepherd Neame beers, we have international lagers, traditional cider, a wide selection of wines and spirits. New to The Curlew is our range of coffees and teas. These are served all day with a choice of tempting biscuits, cakes and muffins. Our coffee is Rainforest Alliance certified and roasted in East Anglia. It tastes great and travels a short distance so you can enjoy it knowing that it's fresh and rewarding for everyone in the production cycle. We will be providing food very soon, so like us and you will be the first to know when our menu is released. As we have been redesigned, we welcome the addition of a function suite. This can be hired free (T's & C's apply) for any event. Full details available upon request 01245 690470.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you don’t like meat on the bone forget it, ordered roast lamb ended up with lamb shank, order chicken dinner for 3 year old they put a small leg of very pale chicken on her plate, roast potatoes where like cardboard and Yorkshire’s were burnt to a cinder.
The whole look of the pub from the outside was grim and dirty, the inside wasn’t much better.
Complete waste of £50 don’t waste your money folks

On Xmas Day I took my son (who is severely disabled) to The Curlew for our Lunch.

His wheelchair is very big, but Louise made sure we had a table where there was plenty of space for him, and it was easy for me to feed him his Lunch.

The food was amazing, my son had the turkey, and I had the Vegan option, but where they excelled was on the level of service from Louise & Stewart, they made sure everything was perfect, my so. wanted a starter that wasn’t on the menu, it wasn’t a problem, then on the day he changed his mind about desert, once again not a problem.

Keep doing what you are doing

Came here with family and had a lovely meal. Good pub grub done well and love that you can tell that everything is done fresh and homemade. Shame it doesn't get much recognition for the restaurant part but then also the service could have been a little more consistent I.e. not having to go to the bar to order drinks and food.

Best Sunday Roast in Woodham! Friendly service, good drinks and company and generous portions of food on the Sunday roast! We both had chicken this time and I had beef last time, both great! Very tasty roast potatoes and desert was great too! I 100% recommend!

Pta Committee Christmas meal tonight at The Curlew Gandalfs Ride,
We all paid £30 a head for a 4 course meal, starter, main pudding and a tea or coffee - I would have expected to have paid £50 for that standard
and quality of food.

The service at table was attentive, the bar staff and management could not do enough for us - a lot of us had the roast turkey - well now I know why everyone is banging on about their roasts every week!
Thank you Louise Rowe your attention to detail and service... it did not go un noticed 👏👏👏👏

Recently had dinner here with family, food was exceptional. The Burger is definitely not one to miss and the Cheesecake was amazing!

Cozy little pub with a real friendly, family feel to it. The restaurant is tucked away from the main bar so you don't feel as though you are sitting in a pub.

They have a log burner too which I imagine will be lovely in the coming winter months so I will definitely be returning with all of the family!
