- c.huckle4 contributionsXmas panto 2022Really lovely visit for Xmas panto in Dec 2022. Beautiful building and well organised show. If I’m being picky then long queues for food and drink during the interval which could be more of a problem now you’re now allowed to bring in your own. But otherwise didn’t dampen the great atmosphere of the place, really friendly staff and a great evening for the family.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 27 December 2022
- fcsandyWalton-on-the-Naze, United Kingdom223 contributionsCinderella Panto was complete madness!Cinderella Panto was complete madness! In a good way. Starting at 2pm New Years Eve and finished just before 5pm with a short break half way through. We, including our 6 year old great niece thought it was hilarious, especially the surprises during the show for the actors, apparently it was the 2nd from last show and so the behind the scenes staff get to play pranks on the show actors which added to the fun throughout. Another scene never to be forgotten was the "on the first day of christmas my true love gave to me" song and scene, it was hilarious especially the snowmen rugby tacking the fairy godmother and other actors, as I say, it was complete madness. Lets hope next years can live upto this years standard.Thank you for your feedback regarding our Christmas Pantomime. We totally agree the 12 days of Christmas scene was total chaos but great fun was had by all involved. We do try to ensure the pantomime is enjoyed by all no matter your age and we hope that this year's pantomime Aladdin will be just as entertaining.Written 17 February 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Written 9 January 2023
- Kelstar1311Haverhill, United Kingdom17 contributionsLovely venueGreat venue, very well organised but prices in the till at the bar were different to the prices displayed. Staff sorted quite quickly though. Seats were comfortable and well spaced. Dancing allowed around the edges and stage had a great view.Thank you for your feedback following your recent visit. We apologise for the pricing error but with the drinks prices constantly increasing this was an oversight that was quickly rectified and we made sure you were charged the advertised price not the new price. We are glad you enjoyed your evening and do hope your return again soon.Written 2 March 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 27 February 2023
- Holly H1 contributionA wonderful evening outI’ve been twice now, once to see the Ballet and just yesterday to see my very first opera. It’s a lovely building, I think it has lovely sound in terms of hearing the orchestra and the singers clearly etc. it’s warm! Which is a huge bonus for me (I’m always freezing). The toilets are clean and the staff are lovely and helpful. I’m only giving 4 stars as we sat somewhere different this time (tiered seating) and the row we sat on was quite wobbly and the side railing was a little wobbly too. The railing wasn’t an issue for me as such but it was for people coming down the stairs. We will be back to see more shows as soon as we’re able.Thank you for your feedback following your recent visit and for your kind comments. We apologise that you experienced issues with the railings and will certainly get this looked into. We will look forward to welcoming you back in the future.Written 28 March 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 March 2023

Great young cast who were so enthusiastic and got the audience involved too. Brilliant performance. We're so lucky to have such a good theatre who promotes local talent. Well done everyone.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 August 2023
- Pauline TRomford, United Kingdom7 contributionsNeil Diamond tributeWent to see Neil Diamond through the years, really enjoyed it. Didn't have to queue long for drinks, venue was easy to find and lots of parking nearby. Seats were a bit uncomfortable so pleased there was an interval after an hour. Apart from the lack of comfortable seating would highly recommend which is why it's a 4. The show was fabulous.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 September 2023

The staff at The Princes Theatre were very friendly. We usually sit in the tiered seating when we see a show at this venue but unfortunately we booked a little late so booked a seat in the stalls. Boy were the seats uncomfortable, you felt like you were packed in like sardines and just couldn’t move. If you decide to book a show highly recommend the tiered seating.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 November 2023

Absolutely brilliant performance by the entire pantomime actors and crew. Really funny and entertaining involving the audience more than other pantomimes I’ve been to in past years. Highly recommend great for all the family of all ages.

We went to see Aladdin for my children’s first time at the pantomime they loved every second of it the helpful staff at the beginning brought round some booster chairs for them so they could see around people in front they had the best times if I booked again I’d probably join in the tiered seating area as the metal chairs at front were super uncomfortable but other than that I have no Complaints it was a brilliant performance and the kids loved the 6 min Christmas song madness in the middle chucking the giant balls around was their favourite

Took my mum to see the Rat Pack Swingin' at the Sands show. We had great seats, in the tiered seating, with a great view. The show was fantastic and the sound was spot on. Staff were friendly and polite. A brilliant night!

Lovely venue, not too big so ideal as can see the stage really well from anywhere. Really nice staff, queues at the bar were quick. Maybe more toilets on bigger venues but the same anywhere you go really. Wild def go again.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The theatre and it surroundings are very user friendly and especially so for those with mobility problems. Good signage makes it easy to find your way round. Although busy it never seemed crowded. A most enjoyable afternoon.

Where do you advice people to.park ?
Kai A
Clacton-on-Sea, UK23 contributions
Hello Debbie,
The Town Hall has a Car park next to it, with the entrance in The Grove. There is also on street parking after 6pm. And there is a large multi storey car park across the road, the entrance is in Carnarvon Road with a footpath that leads to it next to the library directly in front of the building.
I hope this helps

Where are good isle seats, going to see George Michael tribute? never been to theatre before- thank you
Kai A
Clacton-on-Sea, UK23 contributions
Hello
All the aisle seats are good although if you have any mobility problems I would recommend the stalls as there are no step. However if you would like to be slightly higher up then the tiered seating gives an excellent view of the stage.
To be honest there aren't any bad seats/restricted view seats in the Princes Theatre it is more a matter of personal preference.
As part of our new box office project in the future we are looking at making 'view from seat' feature available to our customers.
Kind regards

Hi,
If I wanted to put on a music event here, how much does it cost to hire the theatre for 1,2 and 3 nights?
I am a PA to an events organiser, and we are looking for venues to host an X factor style entertainment event.
Many thanks.
