Quiet outside of the season, fantastic for romantic walks. Just be aware that toilets alongside the promenade are closed down at the end of October.

Lovely clean beaches, mostly sandy( great for the kids).Nice sea level prom. Great gardens at street level, a real credit to the gardeners! Plenty of food outlets on both levels. Pier is free entry. On a fine day there is nowhere better.

Lovely beach, gets very busy in summer months. Summer months sit near the pier and you can listen to the live music from the pier. Our last visit was a day in October. The beach was empty the sun was shining the only let down...More

When the sun is shining you could be abroad. Sun, sea and plenty to see an do. Beaches offer fun for the kids or peace and quiet to kick back and read.

Unfortunately the beach was strewn with a lot of rubbish, otherwise it was very pleasant to sit and eat an ice-cream.

Lovely morning, quite start the Saturday park run is out and about. Warm and dry for the time of the year.

Visited on a wet dreary day but had a lovely walk along the prom. Had never looked at the Rose Gardens before so walked through and was pleasantly surprised how lovely they were. Memorials sad but beautiful and all the benches have memorials on them....More

I think you’re allowed to walk your dogs on beach to left of pier but not 100% sure.

You can swim, but unless you are a strong swimmer I wouldn't recommend it. The current when tge tide is in is pretty strong. But yeah it's cold & dark. But clean.
