A walk along the paths of the river walk is relaxing. There is plenty of wildlife if you take a few minutes to stand still and watch. The duck pond is very popular with Mallards, Swans, often heron . The walk takes you one end of Witham to the other.

I have lived in Witham for the past 25 years, I do not want to live anywhere else. Our town has it all. There are some overnight sleeping places, these may be a bit basic but are very clean and good value for money. The town is a user friendly place with free high street parking and if it's full... A great place to walk and enjoy nature, with or without a dog. River, ponds, wildlife all great. If you are lucky you might well see a kingfisher, heron, egret mandarin duck, swan or even a turtle basking in the sun, or an otter swimming downstream. Beautiful place and a great asset to Witham.

I walk my dog along the river most days. It constantly changes with the seasons. Lots of wild life to be seen if you take the trouble to find a seat and wait. Nice in the summer for time out with the kids.

Lovely walk with interesting details, when friends visit we often take this route to and from town, weekends on bikes. Sometimes stipping at the duck pond to feed the ducks and watch the tiny fish. Nice relaxing place

Witham's River Walk is an asset to the town that is often overlooked. Most of the walk is paved and can be visited every day of the year and attracts lots of walkers and dog owners exercising their dogs as well as cyclists on the segregated pathways. The walk is mainly open grassland but there are small wooded areas and... More

I often do this walk, and I must say it remains a very nice walk. It is ideal for taking children and dogs, but watch out for bikes, and beware that the river is easily accessible. It also does not get muddy, so it is OK for the winter or after rain. Probably not worth going out of your way... More

I think that overall it's quite a nice walk with a dog, with some nice scenery along the way. There are also, I have to say, some less than scenic parts of the route. it's an average walk with nice bits along the way. worth a little try if you don't have anything else to do and fancy seeing one of... I love the river walk, it's time out from a hectic life, it's peaceful, so we'll kept by the Witham town councils hard working team, and has some lovely wildlife to spot, also now with the addition of the war commemorative artwork it's a pleasure to visit....
