About
6 O’clock Gin Distillery Tours are perfect if you want to see ‘behind the scenes’ at a working distillery and experience the sights, smells and flavours that we work so hard to create every day. Your guides will conduct you around the building and show you some of the secrets and techniques that go into the distillation of 6 O’clock Gin and our range of spirits. Tours take place every Saturday and last for around 1 ½ hours. Tickets cost £25 and include a perfect serve of 6 O’clock Gin & Tonic on arrival. Alternative experiences, including our popular Cocktail Masterclass, are also available on selected Saturdays, and we can accommodate both private groups and bespoke events by arrangement. The minimum age for admission to the premises is 18 years (we don’t have a maximum). While we try to accommodate all guests, we unfortunately don’t possess a lift to take guests to the second floor. We don't offer public tours during the week, but our shop is open Mon-Thu 9am to 5pm, Fri 9am to 3pm.
Duration: 1-2 hours

    Great gin tour
Thank you to Louise and Jayne (aka Poppy!) for a wonderful tour of your premises. It was great to hear all about how much love and care goes into making your gorgeous gins. Jayne your history talk was really interesting, and the beer and gin street images really bought the stories to life. Thank you for the informative tasting and the samples were spot on. We are looking forward to joining you for a cocktail class on board your new boat. Thanks again.

    A visit to 6 o’clock Gin
We stopped in after tasting some of their Gin at Thornbury Castle. Anna helped us try more, and we walked out with several bottles for gifts for others. I highly recommend it! The gin is interesting and locally made, and visiting their location was a highlight of the morning. Thanks, Anna and team!!
Thanks so much for visiting our Distillery Shop, we're so glad that you loved the gin and were able to take some home with you. I shall pass your kind comments on to Hannah :-)

Great way to spend a couple of hours at the weekend!
We were welcomed for our gin tasting tour and had a great time learning about gin making and what makes 6 o.clock gin so special. We were first introduced to it at Romy’s Kitchen (o lovely Indian restaurant which I understand is now closed) many years ago and have really enjoyed the odd tipple since! The information was great and the feel of the whole organisation was welcoming and very friendly. Bought lots of gin afterwards and will be back for a cocktail making masterclass. Highly recommended two hour tour and tasting.
Hi Jonathan, Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review, it's very much appreciated, and we're so glad that you enjoyed the tour. Romy's Kitchen is sadly now closed, although the restaurant that has taken its place (Roobroo) is very good and sells our gin too :-) We'll look forward to welcoming you back to one of our masterclasses; do make sure you're signed up to our newsletter for all the latest updates on our gin experiences, as well as lots of other exciting news :-)

    Thoroughly enjoyable!
This was such an interesting experience, in which we were informed about the history of gin in the UK, the specific history of the company and gin making. The people giving the talk were very enthusiastic about the product and the company and rightly so - the gin is delicious! It is clear that the company is also trying to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible, which also pleased us. We enjoyed the experience as a gift and would recommend it without hesitation!
Thanks so much for your review, Sally, we're so glad you enjoyed the experience - and the gin, of course! Hopefully we'll see you again at another experience - our seasonal Sloe Gin Masterclass is launching soon!

A fantastic way to spend an evening with friends!
We had such a great time and learnt so much about the gin making process. The ladies who led the slow gin making experience were very knowledgeable and charismatic, the evening was brilliant fun! We got to taste many of the amazing gins and take home our own sloe gin to enjoy when it's ready to drink!
Thanks very much for your lovely feedback, we're glad you enjoyed the Masterclass, and our delicious gins. Hopefully your own Sloe Gin is a tasty treat, too!

A lovely way to spend a wet and windy afternoon. We had a fantastic time, our guides were knowledgeable and passionate about what they do making it a fun and interesting experience. The Gins we sampled were also pretty special making it almost impossible to choose a favourite as I liked them all.
Hi Vicky, thanks so much for coming on one of our tours and giving such great feedback. We're really glad you're a new fan of our delicious gins, and hope to see you again for one of our masterclasses!

Very interesting tour and some lovely drinks
Located on the back end of an industrial estate just off Thornbury’s High Street, it all looked pretty locked up and deserted when we arrived, but we followed the signs and persisted, eventually ending up in an upstairs room that has a bar counter, shop and a small display of historical artefacts relating to the company. We started off with a G&T (just their London Dry, no choice offered) whilst we had a talk from our two guides and watched a short video about the company. I found this all very interesting, they covered not on the history of the company and how it came about, but also quite a bit about the history of gin itself which was very enlightening. We then went down to the production area which is really incredibly small, it’s amazing they manage to produce as much as they do. Let’s just say if you’ve done the Thatcher’s cider tour, it’s nothing like that! It’s all made in one copper still, and we also saw the bottling lines, both a small automated one as well as more manual equipment that it also used, although none of this was in use on a Saturday. It was then back upstairs for some tastings, and we were given three to try initially, as well as further ones on request. I thought the measures were really very small though, they couldn’t have been more than about 5ml at most. Inevitably there was then the opportunity to buy some product, which we did, as I had very much enjoyed the sample of the Crème de Cassis that I tried. Overall, I thought this was very interesting, the guides were certainly very knowledgeable and engaging and it was interesting to learn about the history of the drink. It just seemed a little expensive perhaps given the size of both the premises and the measures.
Thanks so much for taking the time to submit this review, it's very much appreciated. We're really glad that you enjoyed the tour overall, and found it so interesting; our tour guides are very knowledgeable and passionate about our business and our products, and we're very proud of them. We're sorry if you thought that the cost was a little expensive; our premises are small, but visitors do get shown all areas of production, with a level of information that we know isn't imparted by some of the bigger establishments. Sample measures are kept at recommended levels as a consideration to all our visitors, but you are able to try our full range, time permitting! If you're interested in a gin experience that's a little more 'boozy', we do also host cocktail masterclasses both here at the Distillery, but also at 6 O'clock Gin at The Glassboat in central Bristol - we would highly recommend ☺
