I've visited twice now with my young family. Really interesting building, beautifully restored. Very helpful staff and volunteers. Boys loved exploring. Fascinating history- lots to engage my 5 & 6 year olds. Get a clip board with quiz from the front desk if your kids like that sort of thing. Amazing that it's free!

We went to see this recently renovated hall last week, and were not disappointed! Easy to find, parking on site (about £2) and free entry to an informative self guided tour of the building made this visit a success. It was not overly busy, although a few groups were going around as well as a toddler group in situ. Lots... More

Just when you don't expect it, hidden in a massive housing estate you come across this gem: Ordsall Hall, a Tudor Manor House. How it survived at all in this location is a miracle. The house and garden are well worth a special visit. Restoration has been carried out to a high standard and sympathetic with the building. And they've... More

Ordsall Hall is hard to find without a GPS or map due to very few sign posts to help locate it, however once you do locate Ordsall hall it is very impressive. A mixture of late mediaeval, Tudor and later construction in timber and brick creates a charming and beautiful exterior enhanced by reconstructed period gardens. The house contains a... More

We stumbled upon the hall after a friend of a friend told us but we were so glad we tried it, lovely place! The staff are so friendly from opening the front door to talking through some exhibits as you walk round cannot do enough! The main hall dates back over 700 years and is beautifully restored. It has lots... More

An absolute gem of a place now surrounded by houses and industrial units. Parts dating back to 1177. Beautifully restored. A nice little cafe, lovely staff. A small gift shop and they had a few plants for sale. It's well worth a visit. John the volunteer was excellent. He came round the hall pointing out some very interesting things, very... More
