Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We hired the West End Centre for an evening for my husband's and sons joint 50th and 21st birthday party.
From the start the staff are professional, helpful, and efficient.
Prior to the event we had a meeting in person to discuss the finer details. We had someone highly but allergic attending so all nuts were removed from the bar in advance. We had two people with dairy allergies who were able to have tea/coffee with dairy free milk, and dairy free ice cream for them was a bonus!
We had ample time to set up and clear down.
Security on the night was there but so unobtrusive it didn't feel like they were there.
The venue has such a lovely chilled vibe about it.
We had people attending who have sensory sensitive issues and they were able to be away from the disco (which was in the theatre), but be comfortable in the bar or gallery and still feel like they were part of the party.
I was so busy greeting people and talking to people that I really appreciated the duty manager coming to me twice and sorting a drink for me!
It's the little things that make a difference. We had researched a number of venues and the Westie felt the most welcoming and accommodating.
Great venue for private hire.

I was at the West End Centre on Friday for the Badac Theatre production which explored the plight of refugees and set out to challenge entrenched ideas of who they are and why they leave their countries. What an astonishing, visceral, thought-provoking performance! I know it will continue to resonate with me for a long time to come.
This performance has left me resolved to make sure I continue to support as many theatrical events here as possible in the future. The Westy is excellent at seeking out productions that will educate, inform and provoke discussion as well as entertain and the intimate atmosphere is so well suited to niche events. There is often an opportunity for Q and A's after performances too.

The West End Centre is a practically perfectly formed building that contains a wide variety of events. Arts, crafts, comedy, theatre, choir, drama and music for all tastes.
The utterly lovely staff are unbelievably helpful, friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to make a visit to the centre just that little bit better.
It is the sort of place where youngsters can get a taste of live music or theatre for the first time without having to trek into bigger towns or cities. A building were total strangers can sit back, chat and relax. Even on your own you'll never feel out of place.
Prices for the events and courses are very reasonable and a good night is practically guaranteed for all ages. Meanwhile the bar is modestly priced and The Westy makes for a very nice place to chill with a pint. In addition there are almost always art displays to soak up many crafted by talented local artists.
If you've never been then take a punt on a comedy night and prepare yourself for a fun night out in merry ole Hampshire.

I have been visiting the "westie " for many years and I found that it's a great venue for the alternative entertainment. They advertise in the local paper. When they have something on they open the bar and it becomes a warm and friendly venue. It also has activities on for children during the holidays which gives people a break from the children..........always useful.

Having seen them at the Brixton academy in their heyday, this couldn't have been more different. But what a great venue! Intimate, friendly and a good sound. A smashing place and I will certainly be checking out more bands in the future.

I went to see the Urban Voodoo Machine on their latest tour. The gig was superb, lots of great music and entertainment. The venue itself is friendly, well set out and with great acoustics. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The bar is small, but with a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices.

We had never been to this venue before but can confirm it is a lovely intimate venue with a good bar. We arrived just 5 minutes before the band came on but this was ample time to buy a beer and get back in to the auditorium for a fabulous gig. Very impressed by the efficiency of the venue and all the staff were happy and helpful. Recommended!

The Queens around the corner is a Wetherspoons and it doesn’t get much better than that unless you like McDs KFC or kebabs. The local Indonesian that’s highly rated closes before shows at the Westie.
