- Jennifer F13 contributionsA Little Treasure in RomseyReally enjoyed our visit to this wonderful little theatre in Romsey. A striking Art Deco building with a well laid out auditorium and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The set they put together for Little Women was fantastic and the players gave it their all. It was a trip down memory lane for me. Have just moved to Romsey and I last went to the Plaza for my 18th birthday over 30 years ago now to see..... Little Women! So great that it's still going after all these years and long may it last!Thank you for those lovely remarks. We hope you come back again in less than 30 years!Written 25 May 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Written 21 December 2023
- Pearl65436 contributionsVery impressive productionWe went to One Man Two Guvnors last night and while we have seen good amateur productions here before this one was exceptionally good. We couldn't fault any of the performances and they were particularly good at the comedy timing and slapstick. We had seen the show professionally three times before but this was equally as enjoyable and impressive. Congratulations to all involved.Thank you for those lovely remarksWritten 25 May 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 March 2024

A great little venue, friendly staff, nice to be able to have a drink in the green room before or in the interval. - r0bmckay1 contributionOne Man, Two Guv'norsSimply superb! It never ceases to amaze me that a small drama group (RAODS) consistently produces such brilliant and professional shows. The principal actor (Francis) would be at home in any top West End theatre and of course Alfie (the waiter) stole the show - great comedy timing & slapstick skills. However, all the cast were excellent ... Well done!Thank you for that lovely feedbackWritten 25 May 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2024Written 21 March 2024

The fact that this production was by an amateur theatre, we were amazed by the whole performance. So funny, fab singing, a live band, wonderful slapstick, great timings and improv, such energy. All set in a lovely little local theatre. Excellent show, we’ll be back.Thank you for those lovely remarks. Best Panto I’ve seen ever. The whole cast, young and older, were so very talented. Brilliant costumes, wonderful singing voices and so very, very, very funny. Extremely well written and produced. Lovely, comfortable theatre with very friendly, welcoming staff. 100% feel good factor achieved.

We are so lucky to have this venue in Romsey. We have attended many performances over the years and never been disappointed.
Our granddaughter attended her first pantomime this year and absolutely loved it, especially the 'mens dressed as ladies' !!.
Hopefully the theatre will be here for many years to come.

A great showcase for the lead character whose comic skill and involvement of audience members was first class. It was difficult to know how much had been set up beforehand but if you are not inclined to be picked out, best not sit in accessible places! The whole cast were a good standard (though the script is a little bawdy in places) and the set/lighting and sound were first class. A good evening's entertainment

Fantastic show with great singers and band (History of Soul).
Seating a bit cramped so couldn’t stand and dance when invited to by the singers but that wouldn’t matter for other productions.
Spoiled only by the excessive frozen ice - even one of the singers had to ask for it to be turned off.
They’re really not necessary!

I have visited the Plaza Theatre three times now and each time have been thoroughly entertained. The theatre is small but cosy, which adds to its attraction. The amateur productions are actually very professional and you don't need to take out a mortgage to have a thoroughly good evening.

A rare little restored art deco gem with quality amateur productions.
We visited Romsey for a few days break and bought tickets for the Lionel Bart musical of Oliver performed by Romsey Amateur Operatic and Drama Society. It was excellent and they have made such a lovely job of renovating such an iconic little building. It's very popular and shows sell out quickly.

Is there an adequate car park at the theatre please
Written 16 November 2017
Hi. There is a 40-bay car park behind the theatre, and plenty of free parking options within a 5-10 minute walk. For more information see the theatre website, under the 'Your Visit' page.
