There is a viewing platform for deer. Picturesque forest and national park for the family. Very picturesque and ponies wonder around. It was very busy Easter Weekend but still and enjoyable day out, getting back to nature.

On our recent long-weekend trip to the New Forest we stopped off at Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary twice - once during our stay and at the end of the holiday as our final destination whilst travelling home. It's a great place to start exploring the New Forest. Very close to the car park (2 minute walk) there is a purpose-built viewing... More

Lovely place to visit. Been going for years and it's different every time you go. Lovely to see the deer and if your lucky you may see a white one.

This sanctuary is very peaceful and we did actually managed to see the deer before we left thankfully. The walk is very pleasant although the signing posting of routes could be a bit clearer.

Been going here since I was a kid, it hasnt changed too much except for getting busier. The walk is a couple of miles around the deer enclosure. You will need a camera or binoculars unless you know the spots to get up close. Not really suitable for prams, or road bikes. It now has a picnic area and ice... More

Excellent walking to be had, saw deer inside and outside the fenced area. A variety of woodland types, something beautiful at every turn of the road. Free parking, toilet facilities

Took some friends the New Forest who had never been. Lovely place to go for a walk in the forest. 3 colour coded walks. We followed the red walk but then carried on just to explore. We found ourselves by a fenced heathland. What amazed us the most was it was so peaceful! We turned around and picked up the... More

We decided to take a road trip here to see what the fuss was about. We were in for a treat as there are 3 walks around Bolderwood - which are all colour coded. But what was more fascinating was the many deer that were around and and unsual looking trees.

We visited in December knowing there would be slim chance of seeing any deer, but we went anyway and had wonderful walk. We walked the marked trails for about an hour and spotted two deer and several ponies. The walk itself was so serene and lovely, and on a foggy morning the forest was really beautiful. Would highly recommend to... More

Great access to some mature parts of the forest, plenty of bird activity and fallow deer close to viewing platform.

Beautiful serene walk with golden leaves and a light shower, so refreshing, not many deer at this time of year, but a nice short walk!
