Great day out for car enthusiasts
Great place to visit for car enthusiasts, excellent museum with plenty to see and we loved the Top Gear section! Lots to see and spend a few hours seeing the cars plus the gardens and house. Nice cafe and lovely staff. We were originally going to Goodwood FOS until they cancelled less than 24hours before we were due to go - however thanks to Beaulieu my 2 boys still had a great day!

    A fantastic day out !
What a fabulous day out. We spent 5 hours here and there is so much to do and see it is good value for money. Palace House is amazing g and the gardens superb. The Motor Museum is breath taking. So much there to see. The mono rail / on screen cars … there is so much to do. The cafe is clean and a large space with plenty of tables and chairs and food options. Although I was surprised they didn’t have decaf coffee. We really had a wonderful day. Dogs are welcome too .

    Great weekend experience
An excellent experience. We booked accommodation nearby so we could visit Saturday and Sunday, as re-entry is allowed within a certain number of days, and still only just had time to enjoy everything fully; the house, gardens, art, cars, top gear exhibition, vintage bus ride. Riding in Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang was without doubt the absolute highlight of the weekend.

    Great day out
Although the weather was a bit sketchy, we found loads to keep us busy for a whole day at Beaulieu. We loved the Mill Pond walk and all the carved characters along the way. The Motor Museum was fascinating, even though we’re not particularly car enthusiasts, it was incredible to see so many amazing vehicles and note how they’ve evolved over the years. Enjoyed the Top Gear attractions ( though we thought the outside area around there was a bit a scruffy and could do with a bit of attention) and the TV/film vehicles. Enjoyed our rides on the bus and the. Monorail; the commentary was helpful too. Lots of history to explore, the Abby ruins and Palace House were great with lots of interesting information boards. We took our own picnic and there was plenty of space to sit. Enjoyed looking at the sculptures and wandering through the gardens. We were lucky enough to catch a falconry display as well that kept us all entertained. All in all, a great family day out with something for everyone.

The house and Abbey is just so amazing. Seriously definitely worth a visit. Nothing to fault absolutely not. Such a memorable day spent here. Excellent value for money. This is an absolutely fabulous place to visit. Visited several times over the past 51 years. It always makes me smile. Looking forward to my next vist next year. There is so much to see, the motor museum is a definite must along with Palace House and the story of the SOE.

    Fantastic day out.
Beaulieu is a fantastic day out for all ages. We had an annual pass, although this only covers the motor museum and we had to pay an additional fee for the rest of the grounds. The gardens, Palace and Abbey are lovely to walk around. The Falconry talks were really fascinating and it was lovely seeing the birds. There was a car display during the day too. Overall there's a lot to see here and it's taken us two visits to fully complete the site. Would definitely recommend this as a great day out.

    Great day out
My wife and I visited with two of our grandchildren as a day out. We were both very impressed with the amount to see and do - we didn’t get to see quite a few things, but with a free annual pass we can come back again. Little Beaulieu is great for the children and the monorail was a big hit. The grounds are fabulous, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. We visited in early August when you might expect it to be crowded, but there is so much to see and do it never felt busy. The falconry display was a must see too. Highly recommend, great value for money. You will need all day to even have a chance of seeing it all.

    Good day out
Great day out despite the British summer weather as most if not all of it was under a roof!! Lots to see and do some great vehicles through the decades, staff helpful and full of knowledge which is always good. Restaurant ok though tables could of been cleared quicker given that alot of staff not doing much. Thought gift shop was expensive though, though there is alot in there. Free parking which is good, we got our tickets online but still had to Queue. Certainly worthy of another visit and good value for money.

    a great day out!
The day flew past! It was great to see the history of the house and abbey. It was very personal touch which was nice with lots of information. The cars and motorcycle was vast but made it enjoyable as even though it was busy you could still find a quiet space.
Thank you for your review, it is great to hear you had an enjoyable visit and found lots of things to see and do. We hope to see you again in the near future.

Initially a little shocked by the entrance fee of £27 per person for seniors we realised later that this was probably good value bearing in mind all there is to see at Beaulieu.
We started with the Monorail which appeared to have no easy access for the elderly or disabled. We managed it however & it was quite fun way to see the extensive grounds.
Though my wife & I have no particular interest in cars we found the Motor Museum very interesting & enjoyed looking at a range of vehicles through the ages. There was one smallish lift available to the different floors, but it was not immediately obvious.
We then went on to see the gardens which were pleasant, but not always well maintained.
We then went on to the house which was really interesting, but with quite a few stairs to manage. It was a bit like a cross between a historic house & a family home with plenty of family photos & memoribilia dotted around.
We stopped for a bite to eat at the restaurant sharing a pizza.
The restaurant was extensive with plenty of chairs & tables. On the day we visited it did appear to be a little understaffed.
We passed on the Top Gear experience, but generally enjoyed our visit.

Beaulieu was extremely disappointing, after returning after a few years I felt like all of the displays remained the same and were underwhelming on a normal day. We tried to book online but the website was down, we told the staff when we were buying our tickets and they charged us full price (even though they are meant to match online price if this is the case). So it was over £50 for 2 adults, which I believe to be unreasonable.

The museum itself had a lot of vehicles were next to eachother, making it difficult to photograph individual vehicles. There was so much to see in there but the layout made it difficult to navigate. Especially the motorbike section. There was a good selection there but it was just hard to appreciate due to the amount that were in close proximity to eachother. Which is a shame as the collection of cars is so impressive. We really liked the Top Gear section as felt like this was laid out well.

The manor house was disappointing in my opinion. You can only enter this on the day, if you buy an annual pass you cannot go in again.

The monorail was good and the bus was quirky, but they were free. Also staff were helpful at all times so cannot fault them.

The gift shop was also overpriced but thats standard for the type of attraction.

Overall, I wouldnt recommend Beaulieu, which is a shame as I was really looking forward to visiting. I dont think it is worth the money for what you get.

Family day out to Beaulieu whilst visiting the New Forest. We booked online in advance. Were able to book a disabled ticket and a carers ticket saving a little bit of money. There was a Jaguar meet whilst we were there which added to the atmosphere.

Really enjoyed all of the attractions despite not being car enthusiasts. The monorail, Del Boy’s van, Palace House and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang were particular highlights for us.

If we were to visit again we would take a picnic.

Free car parking. Nice gift shop. Great play area for children.

Staff very friendly and helpful.

Highly recommended. Worth going out of your way for.

When we left here we drove to Lyndhurst for a great Sunday lunch at the White Rabbit. See separate review. Very highly recommended.

Lott's to see and we enjoyed it all, very good.

One recommendation - the boards in front of the Vehicles with the History are to low
and we found we were bending down all the time which became tiresome
Waste Hight would be much better and improve the experience especially given the size of the display, we were fed up with bending over towards the end.

Family visit to Beaulieu.
We visited on Monday for my husband’s birthday. Neither of us have been in the past 15 years so we’re pleased to return with our children.
Firstly, the staff are absolutely wonderful.
I am disabled and they helped organise an electric scooter for me at short notice.
We were given a map and off we went.

My son (15) was excited to see the Top Gear section. Which was quite fun.

Next up, the ‘cars on screen’ which was a separate building containing 8 cars.
The trotter van and James Bond car were out of the display elsewhere.
Harry Potter car was fun.

Then to the main museum.
The amount of older classic & early evolution in motoring was impressive-a huge collection of them.
The information boards regarding each car was helpful.
We enjoyed the F1 section & the land speed record section was more dynamic.
Motorcycle section was interesting.

However, we felt that’s where it sort of stopped.
We expected to see cars up until the modern day or at least some information or displays on ‘modern cars’, ‘super cars’ and ‘innovations’ / ‘novelty cars’ in recent motoring years reflected in the National Motor Museum.
To bring it up to date.
Perhaps these types of cars could be loaned to the museum and changed periodically.
It felt stale and flat in that sense, I agree with some previous reviews.
The children, 2 of which are car enthusiasts as well as my husband expected and hoped to see more modern cars and a greater variety of motoring through the ages so were disappointed in that respect.
Especially when the museum has so many of a similar style from the very early days.

The bus ride was good fun for a quick trip & the lady running it was fab.

Unfortunately the monorail was under maintenance for the day.
Which we knew from the website prior to visiting.

Palace house was lovely to have a quick wander through, some beautiful rooms & the Victorian kitchen was interesting.

Our youngest (8) enjoyed the fairy and dragon trail.
The kids play area is brilliant & was a hit for all ages!

The grounds are beautiful to wander through.

We went into the Secret Army cabin and thought it was great learning the importance of Beaulieu and spy stories.
Fantastic addition.

Food-The main cafe had closed by approx 4:30pm.
The ice cream shop was also closed.
Museum shut at 6:00pm.
The other cafe side had food displayed by the customer queuing area.
The food was out in the open and uncovered which we thought was unhygienic.
Fortunately, the staff were really thoughtful about our concerns and found us some food that had been stored in sealed containers in the kitchen.
I was surprised that the museum decision makers find leaving food out for anyone to touch, pick or worse-sneeze or cough on without any sort of covering let alone manned by staff to ensure hygiene is appropriate for healthy and safe food standards.

Overall, we came away disappointed with the actual motor museum itself,
considering we’ve not visited in over a decade and a half.
To see a wider range of cars on display we will look elsewhere as this was the main purpose of our visit.
However, rest of the activities made it a good, fun family day out and again, the staff were all brilliant.

We go to Bealieu Motor Museum every year and it's one of our favourite places. Today was super quiet, which is unusual for a Saturday, but maybe it was due to the monorail not working (alas as it's one of our favourite things) or D Day events etc...(Shame there wasn't something on) but that worked out well for us. The motor museum itself was fantastic and we always love jumping on the bus ride. Always recommended by us!

We had a brilliant day at Beaulieu and there was something for everyone. The staff were really welcoming and friendly and so knowledgeable about the house and vehicles. The highlight was a trip in the chitty chitty bang bang car with our driver Sandy. We thought it was excellent value for money for a half hour ride, tour of beaulieu and lots of photo opportunities. The parade at the end of the day was also excellent as was little beaulieu. Also a shout out to the 2 ladies working in the kitchen, they were lovely and really engaging.

This was our second visit after an excellent first visit in 2022 with my children who loved the museum. With a couple of exceptions we felt nothing had changed and no new attractions. The children seemed bored this time. Also, frustrating ordering system in restaurant with hot food ordering one side, and cold food (kids lunch boxes) on the other, so I had to queue up twice. Such a waste of time and overpriced for the quality.
Queued up for ice cream at the kiosk by the adventure playground, as we got closer to the front could see a sign on counter saying no ice cream tubs, whippy only. Which was fine - then that ran out. Instead of staff informing the long line of customers waiting, they just updated the sign with not a word to those clearly waiting with their kids to buy ice creams. Terrible customer service. And this was at 230pm, not even the end of day. We won’t be going back.

Surprisingly large place with a lot more to see than nice cars! Great kids play area and got to see some movie famous cars like Harry Potter and Only Fools and Horses!

Only critique would be the lack of vegan options - cafe defo needs an update as was also expensive!
