- Joshua D3 contributionsGroup lesson???The overall experience was good I just had some issues with the group lesson, one person in the group was late and we Just had to wait for them and that time was not added back on at the end, lots of small talk and chatting and in my opinion just wasting time I could have been learning, it was probably about an hour in to my time before I got to ride my snowboard. Once the lesson had started I was having to progress at a snails pace because of the ability of people in my group. Spending as much money as I did I would at least expect to be given the chance to prove I can ride the main slope and therefore return to ride recreationally but in my “feedback” as I hadn’t learnt to use the button lift or been told the main slope safety code because ironically there wasn’t enough time I need to complete more lessons to be able to get a lift pass here. Pretty unhappy with this on a personal note but I would still recommend the snow center to people with low confidence and that don’t mind learning at a slow pace.Hi JADixon10 Thank you for taking the time to post your review. It is great to read on the whole you feel you have had a good experience learning with us. Snowsports is a very social activity and I believe chatting and enjoying the company of others is all part of the experience. Sorry to read you feel this was not an important aspect for you. I may be that a private lesson would be a better option for you as in a group situation the instructor has to cover everyone's needs which I think you may have found frustrating. We hope you get to ride the main slope in your next lesson to fulfil your goal. Thank you for the recommendation and we look forwards to welcome you back soon. - Rebecca S3 contributionsDisappointing first-time skier experienceI’m a keen skier but my partner had never skied before. He was keen to try (although a little apprehensive) so I got him a 2 hour adult group lesson for his birthday. (I used the main slope at the time of his lesson, which was fine). Unfortunately after this experience he has said he would never do this again. I am so disappointed. The level is for people who have never skied before at all. At the time of the lesson the teaching slope was very busy - not sure how many groups but certainly a large number. His group had 10 people, already large in size by any ski group standard, but I am told they merged with another group pretty much straight away. So a group of 20 (albeit with 2 instructors)!! Given the large group size my partner says the instruction was pretty much non existent. They were given a brief demo and then ‘had a go’. In his words, it was more like ‘supervision’ than ‘instruction’. There was never any specific help / feedback. For a group that has never skied before this is clearly not enough. The line was long to get up the slope. He estimates in 2 hours he ‘got to have a go’ maybe 8 times max. For reference, they were only going up about 3m and then skiing down again. He did say the instructors themselves were perfectly nice but ultimately there was not a lot they could do given the large group size and crowdedness of the slope being used. He’s said he will never do it again and I am gutted. If getting any beginner a lesson here seems you would need to get them a private lesson. Better yet, go elsewhere!!Hi Rebecca S Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Sorry to read the lesson did not meet with your partners expectations. Group size 10 is a standard group size in most ski schools and we had 2 groups running at this time with an instructor allocated to each group. I am sure your partner would have received a level card showing the progress. The expectation in a level 1 is to learn the basic posture, balancing and try a snow plough. It may be your partners expectation had not been aligned with a level 1. Our instructors will not rush the foundation as this forms the very foundation for a life time of great skiing. Sorry to read your partner will not consider attempting skiing again which is a shame as its a very rewarding sport. However one can not fast track learning a skill based sport like skiing. As you said he was a little apprehensive before the lesson started with so maybe a private lesson would have been a good option. Private lessons are a great product for people who are looking for individually focused learning. We are now in the peak of the season so lesson products are often at full capacity, this is not unusual in a Snowsports environment anywhere in high season. Hopefully you will convinced your partner to give skiing another go at some point. Wishing you a peaceful festive break. - Matt W1 contributionToo crowded. Not worth the cost.Disappointing. £120 for a hours family ski. Just way to busy. Managed 4 or 5 runs lasting less than a minute each. The rest of the time was in the loft line. Capacity should be way less than the amount of lift tickets sold. Really poor value for money.Hi V1899RRmattw Thank you for uploading your review. Sorry to hear you had not been totally satisfied with your visit. We do operate to a set and managed capacity but in peak times we are at full capacity. This is not uncommon in a Snowsports environment in Peak season. During the holiday period we obviously have lots of young children learning and being introduce to Snowsports. This does slow things down a little as when they learn the lift we do sometimes have to slow it down. Please feel free to inbox me if you would like to discuss further. Hope to hear from you. - Geoff NBattle, United Kingdom1 contributionExpensive and too busyToo busy. One of the lifts broke down constantly. Paid £40 each and got approximately 3-4 runs in the hour. Gave up before the hour was up when the lift broke down again. Went to the restaurant where we got cold food delivered. The tuna melt still had cold grated cheese in it. Fries - cold. We left and just thought, we will chalk that one up to experience. We won't go again. £80 to get in. £25 in the restaurant for cold food. No thanks On the plus side the snow is good and the hire kit we had was decentVisited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 December 2022
- Lucy LTurners Hill, United Kingdom44 contributionsInstructor needs to lighten up.We absolutely love it here, as a family of five we travel from West Sussex four or five times a year. Unfortunately, the self-important, middle-aged, male ski instructor, wearing spectacles, not English, who was on the main slope giving a private session at 8.30am on 31st December doesn’t seem to understand that my family, paying nearly £200 for a two hour ski pass are the snowcentre’s patrons & we are it’s lifeblood. All of us get annoyed at work perhaps but most of us cannot be rude to the customer, not so at the snowcentre. My son & I stopped to take the first opened lift, which we’d been using since we arrived at 8am & between going up & skiing down a sign had been hung across the entryway saying it was for ski lessons only. We saw it & stopped. Then, the officious, rude, unsmiling instructor stopped by the sign shouted at me that it was closed to me & actually shook the sign to show me visually what he was shouting, before he huffed & puffed his way under his sign & kept on going. I read quite well as a professional & don’t often need help reading. I presume us not turning around & heading towards the other lift as soon as he’d like us to, made him feel he must keep on asserting himself. Skiing is fun, we love coming to you. However, I am not a naughty girl & wont be spoke to, in front of my family as such, especially when I haven’t gone under any signs or flouted any rules. If you work in service, understand the customer relationship. Whilst I’m paying to be there, I do hope to be treated with some value. A smile doesn’t cost a thing & seeing so many people having fun is a privilege surely, not a chore?Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 31 December 2022
- BobLonely2 contributionsSnow Centre Level 5 LessionAgain, another great visit to the Snow Centre for the next incremental Snowboarding lesson.. my instructor was Sam, he was confident, skilled and imparted advice and made it clear on how I could improve. I started the session lacking confidence moving up to the big slope, and finished after two hours a much more confident. Thanks to the whole team for such a great time..Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 4 January 2023
- Jag3 contributionsAlways enjoy snow centreAlways enjoy going here. Always a good laugh and good practice. Went down for park night, really liked the smaller kickers. Finally some confidence to go over them and the volcanoe. Have found though through the winter there are lots of very very beginner people across the slope not in lessons which if not careful about can and does cause some accidents. Lots of people falling and shuffling down the snow Was a little sad Rob and treena weren't around this week. Always a good laugh and great support when they're around. Overall really enjoy snow centre, good staff, good snow just need to be extra vigilant at the moment to ensure you don't hurt yourself or others.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 January 2023
- Tom B1 contributionGood but frustrating at times.Staff always helpful and friendly. We went on a Saturday afternoon with a junior and adult lift pass but as it was so busy, time on the slope was minimal. Passes were being asked for each time we queued for the lift but, apart from people outstaying their welcome, I don’t understand why when in order to hire equipment the passes were required. It was clear there were too many people allowed in at any one time which impacted on value for money. Next time we’ll try to pick a less busy time.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 January 2023
- Realview ReviewsPlymouth, United Kingdom85 contributionsTony Hawk of the SnowThe Snow Centre was very easy to find and had ample parking, although it was tricky to find this out via the website, so just to let you know there IS parking and it’s free. We hired all of the clothes and equipment, which were all in good condition and various sizes were available. We wore active wear (gym leggings) and a hoodie/ jumper underneath which was perfect. We had Rowan and Lottie as our Snowboarding instructions for a full day group (10 people) lesson. We felt both the instructors were knowledgeable, experienced and approachable, although could have been a little more energising. The course needed an injection of fun and laughter, to keep everyone engaged. We did learn the basic skills of snowboarding up to a level 2, some people progressed to level 3. Lunch was included in the day, there was various choices both meat and vegetarian. I had the beef chilli and my friend had the vegetarian chilli, both were very tasty. If it is your first time snowboarding, it would be recommended to do a shorter course as this was quite intense so felt a bit much in one go. Overall we enjoyed the day and would recommend a visit.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 20 January 2023
- nora cRomford, United Kingdom10 contributionsBusy and expensiveThe instructor was very good and pleasant but the slopes are not all that big and it was busy ( a Monday afternoon). I had a private lesson and at £119 for an hour that is a lot of money. Apparently it is far busier at weekends which, in my view, would lead to potentially dangerous experiences on the slopes and long queues for the drag lifts. Not for the feint hearted if too busy and it would be quite daunting for a beginnerVisited January 2023Written 24 January 2023

Really good experience with Holly, she understood our level and quickly swapped us up to Dean’s group, both Holly and Dean explained techniques very well. Also advice for next visit was very helpful.

I had a private class my second. The staff are fantastic and the tutors are great, really patient. However it is so busy on the trainer slopes that I felt nervous and unsafe on both occasions. People were wizzing past me in all directions, there was someone make snow balls right where I would be stopping so the only way I know to stop was to fall over so that I didn’t hit them. No apology from the private tutor who was making the snowballs with a child. I have to say I would never book another beginners lesson again there.
If your paying £125 for a private lesson I think you deserve to have an area that is not busy and where you feel safe.

Just finished the third private snowboard session with Marcus. He is a truly fantastic high calibre instructor; has the gift of spotting the technique shift that makes the biggest difference, but humble at the same time. This enabled me to progress more quickly than I was expecting. His calm, fun and enthusiastic style is nothing short of superb. I will definitely be booking more sessions for my family. Thanks Marcus - top job!

Book an improvers day course and the instructor Dean C was brilliant. He was really patient with me even though I was really scared about going down the main slope. He was really encouraging and by the end I had gained a lot more confidence.

First time snowboarding, travelling from
S. Wales, pretty straightforward. Checking in, collecting snow gear, changing and meeting the
Instructor and other in the lesson was super easy and well organised. Our instructor Mitchell was a dream, easy going, an organic relaxed session, listened to our needs and feedback accordingly. Great experience. Look to coming back.

Having just started skiing last year with work and having enjoyed it so much, me and my wife booked a holiday to La Rosière for January 2024. Needing to get our Ski legs back, the wife more than me having not ski'd for 6 years, she was apprehensive to go back on the slopes but threoretically met the start standard to go on the main slope. Having raised her concern to the staff, they couldnt have been more helpful.
We made them aware of the issue and said we would pay for a lesson but they arranged one of the staff to take her on the nursery slope to assess her technique, gave her a few pointers and took her onto the main slope. After one run they were happy to let her on her way with no need for the lesson and provided free of charge.
Josh was the one who assessed her but there was also the guy at the equipment area and one of hte girls on the snow patrol team that helped out, thank you to you all.
Place is brilliant for what it is, free parking, free use of lockers, changing facilities and super freindly staff. Food in the restaurant was superb, we will be back.
The Snow & Rock shop within the facility is by far and away the most stocked i have seen and with the most services on offer.

Love coming here to get legs warmed up for next skiing holiday. Did 2hrs of skiing although was disappointed that half the slope was being cut off and prepared for snowboarding ramps etc for later in the day. Paid full price for the session but was limited to how much of the slope could be used. If I'd of been aware that this was going to happen may have come an hour earlier, or at least been aware that this was going to happen. Don't feel I should be paying full price for use of half the slope

This was my second time skiing but the first time at the Snow Centre. I am an anxious skier but Peter was so patient, encouraging and spent time getting to know your abilities. It was lovely to meet the others in my group after too. Can't wait to come back for my level 4 lessons!

Snow Fun is the Ringo Slide, sliding down our purpose built slope in a rubber ring. Currently sessions are £10 for 30 minutes for ages 4 years and upwards.
Looking to book a private snowboarding lesson and the tubing for my son's 11th birthday. How long do the lessons generally last, and how much are they?
Thanks.
