Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely place to visit in the autumn. Some absolutely beautiful colours as the leaves were changing. Don't forget to pay for your parking. It would appear several people have been caught out

Really did enjoy this visit. Quite alot of walking and hills. Just off a really busy road. There is either a shop or cafe here but can't remember which

Parking charges apply & ANPR Operated but free to get in the forest, dog friendly, I would recommend a visit.

Thank-you for your review. We love Queenswood and we are glad you enjoyed your visit. There is a Cafe, Shop & Visitor Centre at Queenswood Arboretum. and all it costs is the price of your parking.

Many well marked trails though a fascinating selection of trees which could rival any English arboretum. Nearly all paths are accessible by mobility scooter which van be hired for £5. Staff are friendly and helpful and the specimen trees well marked. Should not be missed if visiting area

Stopped for a short break from travelling. Pulled up, and started to move towards the wooded area to stretch our legs. Assumed it was free parking as there was no evidence of a need to pay parking. By chance- and I mean literally by chance- we saw a small ticket machine not very visible at all! We paid and then found out that blue badge holders don’t have to pay the full fee!! Went to speak to what seemed to be an employee of the grounds in the building behind about it/for help, and the doors were locked? Absolutely terrible! Grounds were nothing special. Whatever was on the paths ruined my shoes as it stained them red. One staff member we finally came across in the woodland was friendly but still gave incorrect information and found it hilarious. Flies everywhere. Just wouldn’t return. Not a good feel there and not good organisation.

We are really disappointed that you did not enjoy your recent visit to Queenswood Arboretum & Country Park. The car parking revenue is our main source of income to support the ongoing management of the woodland and is communicated through 11 signs around the parking areas. Unfortunately, if the Visitor Centre is closed, Blue Badge holders do have to pay for their visit. The Visitor Centre is open 365 days a year between 10am & 3.30pm (minimum). We hope you do decide to re-visit and one of the team will happily show you all the magical things about Queenswood.

great cafe but there is little signage to tel you its a pay and display carpark,

after 2 minuets in the carpark i was sent a parking charge of £60 reduced to £35 if paid withing 14 days however from the date of parking on 05/11/22 to receiving the penalty notice on 18/11/22 most of the14 days had expired!
i travel for work and had i not been at home for a few more days the parking PENALTY would have increased,

MUCH MORE SIGNAGE IS REQUIRED TO STOP PEOPLE BEING FINED

nice place but the parking seems to be a scam

Thank-you for your review. We have tried to make the car parking charges as clear as possible with 11 signs around both car parks with a clear pricing structure. There is a grace period of 15 minutes before having to pay. I know it doesn't help now but our car parking signage is on our Tripadvisor page as well. We are a charity and our car parking income funds all of the management and maintenance of the Arboretum and SSSI Woodland. We hope you do decide to revisit in the future to experience the magical Arboretum and Country Park.

What a great value day out! Just pay for your parking before you leave, we paid £2.50. Really friendly in the Visitor Centre (we picked up a map for free). Spectacular tree specimens in the Arboretum and a good cup of tea at the end. I doubt you can take the family out to many places for £2.50. Brilliant.

We had the most magical afternoon in Queenswood country park. I took the boys round the gruffalo trial while my husband went for a run and it was just fantastic. The place is absolutely beautiful, the boys enjoyed the playground and there are plenty of picnic benches. The Gruffalo statues were well spaced out with activities to and we loved spotting the other signs about insects too. I wish we lived closer so we could visit again soon.
The staff in the shop were also very friendly.

Again complaining about parking fines. I am 73 and very articulate when parking and always check to see if you had to pay.
Stopped for 30 minutes for a coffee and then left, three weeks later got a £60 fine, they say they have 5 signs telling you about parking but I never so them.
One place to avoid if you can

We are sorry that you received a fine from stopping at Queenswood Country Park. We have tried to make the signage and machines as visible as possible. Our machines catch your car reg on entry and you pay for the period of time you actually stay. Queenswood is a really magical space and the only funding we receive comes from the car park. We hope you do decide to visit us again.
