We have been here twice, with a family of six (four children: 7 and under). It is fun and educational, but does take a little getting used to. My mother-in-law couldn't even step foot inside to start with :-) Some small children's trails etc, and some dressing up which the children enjoyed. Mainly, it is just a great big teddy... More

This is a wonderful day out on any day of the week, but our visit was on a cold wet Sunday, we arrived and parking was a little tight, I think that everyone had the same idea, We entered for free but I did pop a £20 in the box on the way out.It was well worth it! The Rothschild's... More

This is a super little museum - well displayed exhibits and a few costumes for toddlers to enjoy dressing up with. There are clipboards and carry-around stools to encourage observation of the many animals on display, and the cafe was very popular too. We went on a midweek afternoon to find it nearly deserted & enjoyed a leisurely couple of... More

This place is brilliant. Great range of exhibits from the Rothschild collection, from polar bears to spider crabs and even some fully clothes fleas! I spent many a school trip here when younger and now take my kids regularly, they love it. From the outside the building doesn't look that big but it's like a tardis and you can easily... More

I visited Tring with my other half for a day out and stumbled across the natural history museum by chance. Entry was free and much to my surprise was really good. There was lots to see with activities for children aswel. There is a lift on site for wheel chair access and parking to the back/side. The exhibits were really... More

Found this place by chance and what a find. It's mainly 2 floors of stuffed animals. But it's all done extremely well with lots of local information and a nice tea room to boot! The kids will love it. A great rainy day destination.

Firstly it's free and that's still fantastic in this day and age. A nice selection of stuffed animals and natural history spanning over a few floors. Good for an hour or rain but certainly not the equivalent of the Natural history museum in London and I don't think it can compare to that. If you in the area it's worth... More
