Arrived here yesterday waiting to go home after a good holiday in the magnificent IOW. This place looks good from the outside, inviting and modern. Food looks simple but good. Two of us found a table, got told we couldn't sit there, found another, got told it was too big, so was found a table. Ordered breakfast at the bar, small full English. Waited 25 minutes for it. Coffee and Tea arrived, both in cups that had not been washed, I mean brown. Got up, asked a member of staff if I could have a clean cup, he just said"Take it to the bar" and walked away. OK I thought. Hovered at the side of the bar, another member of staff spoke over me and said " join the queue". I glared and said I needed a new cup. Eventually one arrived. Eventually the breakfast arrived. Grey scrambled egg. Butter hidden in baked beans. Not recommended I'm afraid.

Hello, We can only apologise that you feel the visit to our venue was not a good one. This Bank Holiday weekend has been extremely busy as I’m sure you noticed, we did not except this at all... we did the best we could to accommodate all our tables as quick as possible, We 25 minutes is an acceptable time for a fresh cooked breakfast. These are testing times for venues and even more so on busy days, staff can be under immense pressure. All of the above is not an excuse just to give you an overview. We hope that next time you visit the island you could give us another try. If you would like to email direct we’d be happy to discuss further. Info@theblacksheepbar.co.uk Kind regards Blacksheep

this place is halfway up the main shopping street , it has outdoor seating with social distancing. Lunchtime on a windy Tuesday a bit of long wait for our food but we were warned & it was well worth it .

Went here for lunch with wife and 2 grandkids wish I never ! Started by waiting to be seated with staff ignoring us eventually got told to go and sit wherever we want. No instructions about ordering so went inside I ordered at bar which went OK. However i noticed no staff had any ppe what's so ever No gloves no masks etc. The table had salt and pepper pots and should have the paper ones. Waited for food whilst drinking our drinks eventually food started arriving wifes calamari but no chips then my chips arrived but no burger then found out my chips were for next table as eventually my burger arrived with chips ! Still no cheesy chips for kids my wife then her garlic chips arrived by then she had finished her calamari. Still no chips for kids. This went on for ages so eventually I had to say something to the waitress that I'd want a refund for this service she just smiled so I said don't smile I'm being serious she just walked off. Eventually the manager came over and said to me it was her first day and she was only 14 ! And that I was rude to her? The place wasn't even busy just don't go here the service is terrible regardless of age or first day

Dear Robert, We look to take on all customer feedback good or bad, it was an extremely busy day for us (no excuse) and that coupled with the new government eat out scheme put extra pressure on service. We can only apologise for the mix up with your meals and assure you that is not how we usually do things. With regards to the member of staff, we explained it was her first day and in think, we can all agree it would not be fair for her to deal with a complaint like this straight away. She dealt with the situation the best way possible and did the right thing by getting you the Manager on shift. For PPE, we have risk assessed all element of our business and it is not compulsory for staff to wear it, we have designated positions for FOH and bar plus multiple sanitising stations and protective screens. We hope that you will reconsider and give us another chance in the future.
