4 reviews
Make the most of your time in England during this full-day trip to Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. Don’t waste time figuring out tricky public transit routes—including a ferry crossing—as transport is included. Paid £12 for us to go to the bottom on the chair lift. I was told you could get off at the bottom. When you get there they said sorry you cannot get off at the moment you have to go back. At the top i was then charged a further £12 before we could leave as we had now gone the return trip. Just be honest with people please. Test of the attractions there were all fine.

We have visited Needles a couple of times before and enjoyed. But this time it was a very different experience due to some attractions being shut due to covid19 situation. The parking was easy with the staff guiding the cars and coaches to the parking lot. £3 for whole day was quite reasonable. The chair lift, which takes you right down to the beach has been closed so its a steep staircase down if you want to get close to the beach. We avoided this as it was impossible to socially distance yourself from the people coming back up. We had a look at the Needles from the watch deck. The weather wasn’t particularly great that day, not their fault though. The carousel and dinosaur jeep ride kept the kids entertained for about 10 minutes. The queues weren’t massive and cup ride wasn’t working. £4 per ride for the jeep and £3 for the carousel, expensive but quite understandable why. The 4D cinema was also closed. The sand shop was probably the only place with a massive queue. The gift shop is good with something for everyone. Not over priced too. We were in and out of the attraction in about an hour. Not sure whether the main attractions here which are chair lift and 4D cinema will ever reopen, but without these theres not much fun and it is sad. Even the kids got bored after a few rides and looking at the shops.

There were high winds on the day we visited so the chairlift wasn't running. Thought we'd look at the other things but pretty much everything except the shops wasn't running/ open. Very blustery walk up to the viewpoint to see the Needles- take good shoes!!
