Welcome! We provide a varied, interesting and exciting range of fishing trips from 2 hour trips to whole days out. Our boats are the perfect vessel to take a leisurely, pleasure cruise to the famous Needles, via Colwell Bay, the colourful sands of Alum Bay and Totland Pier, not to mention Hurst Castle. Hen parties and Stag groups are encouraged and a good time is guaranteed. It is possible to privately Charter our boats, they are available for organised groups, families and friends of course. We operate from the beautiful, historical Yarmouth Harbour,Isle of Wight. Pay and display parking is easily available.

My son, Oliver, and I had a fantastic afternoon's fishing with Lee during our recent holiday to the Isle of Wight. Lee was welcoming and very knowledgeable and helped us all catch fish including mackeral, Conger eels and Tope. The Bass proved elusive on the day but in no way due to Lee. Oliver was new to sea fishing and Lee took great care to support him and make sure he got some bites, including sneaking some squid bait onto his hook, when the rest of us were making do with mackerel! At the end of a busy week on the Isle we both agreed that the sea fishing was the highlight, thanks to Lee. A fantastic day and I would recommend a trip whole heartedly, we hope to revisit the Isle soon and will definitely be booking another trip out with Black Pock Charters. Nick

My first time out Sea Fishing, had a great day. First travelling out past the Needles and beyond, a lovely fresh morning to be out at sea. Lee (Skipper) introduced himself and took care of me all day to get me fishing, he knows what he's doing and speaks with a lot of knowledge not to mention he's a top bloke.
The day went really well, some great fish landed on the boat, I was very impressed as I'd not seen these fish and some sharks in the wild before. ;-) .. I'm looking at more dates to go out, a trouble free and very enjoyable day out, met some really great people and had a briliant time. I even got to take home me Tea. I can highly recommend you try a day out on the Sea with Lee. I'm certainly going back.
My top tip for the day if your out in Autumn/Winter, wear your layers and take some Ginger Nuts.

We chartered the whole boat for an afternoon and had a great time. We caught four bream and a bass, which we had to put back because it was too small. The boat was perfect and Lee was incredibly knowledgable, kind and patient. The views were specatacular, especially of the Needles. We will definitely do it again when we are on the Isle of Wight. Thank you for a great afternoon.

The views were just stunning :-)
The skipper was knowledgeable, kind and informative.
The owner was incredibly accommodating and kind - a real personal touch.
We liked this as it wasn't a crowded large vessel. The experience was more personal. The skipper was happy to chat and answer our questions and he really knew what he was talking about.
We felt safe and he clearly had a good understanding of the waters and safety.
Please don't hesitate! Book your trip with Black Rock Charters and Fishing. We weren't disappointed and we are absolutely sure you won't be either.

My wife bought the fishing trip for me as a birthday present and I had a splendid afternoon with Skipper Lee and half a dozen other anglers.
Even if I had not caught a fish I would enjoyed myself as we were very fortunate with the weather but I caught a hefty Smoothie which Lee duly returned .
We were hoping for Mackerel and Bass but it wasn’t to be in spite of Lee’s best efforts. Thanks for the trip and we will definitely return and haul in some Sea Bass.

Black Rock Charters really are outstanding. We took a 4 hour trip and it was, again, a stunning setting we were fishing in. Lee really cares for his 'crew mates' and ensures we all have fun. The whole experience is perfect. From supplying all rods, bate, and expertise to laughing with others on the trip, it is FUN. Thank you and ant wait til next time.

This was our second trip with Blackrock, we returned to get that elusive Big One. Sadly the fish weren't playing ball but Lee did everything he could to track them down... it was just one of those days but we won't be beaten. Other than that we did have a lovely day full of laughs

We booked this trip based on reading reviews and therefore I want to add my own to help others. Our primary reason for using Blackrock charters was for their accessible boat, my parents are 83 and 89 and unsteady on their feet. A door opens on the side of the boat 'Our Gemma' and it is literally a small step through and sit down. The day that we had originally booked was bad weather and Blackrock called and advised that it would be safer to move the trip to another day (which we did). Our skipper on the day was Steve, he couldn't have made us more welcome, he was a cheeky chappy and gave us a few laughs. We did the 2-hour mackerel fishing trip and Steve certainly had his work cut out, rushing around helping a bunch of amateurs and unhooking our fish and untangling our lines. We ended up catching 24 mackerel which we took home and gutted, Half went in the freezer and the rest on the BBQ - delicious. We had the best time, thank you. Can't wait to do it again.

Another truly amazing family day fishing. This is our second Black Rock Charters experience and it was beyond our expectations! From the moment we set out on our 4 hour trip we were looked after and so excited. We went out passed the needles this time to a depth of about 26 meters (I think) within 10 minutes of getting our lines in the water I caught a dogfish and from that they kept on coming we caught dogfish, rays, massive eels and my husband caught an absolute WHOPPER of a Sea Bass at 8lb 4oz. (It will be greatly exaggerated when he gets back to tell his friends) It was possibly a once lifetime fish!...Or until next time!!!
We are a family of 4, in total there were 8 of us on the boat fishing. It was a great fun with a little bit of healthy competition to see who could catch the biggest one...We WON 🎣 🏆
Thank you for making our day memorable. I know its a bit of luck but it took a lot of knowledge and experience to get us there.

Are you going to be running any trips between 3rd and 10th December. Is it mostly trolling for mackerel or bottom fishing. Species of interest to me are bass, bream and cod - anything I can eat!

Hi, Thank you for getting in touch. During this time of the year we have the 8 hour Fishing Trip, due to Fishing being quiet this time of year and we have to go out further. Current cost is £60. this includes lots of Bait & Rod Hire. In February the boats come out of the water for their routine maintenance, we would hope they would be back in by mid Feb. Hi there. Thank you for getting in touch. Just to advise, that during the winter we don't do our 2 hour fishing trips. These are the Mackerel trips and they are only in through the summer. Our boat goes back into the water Tuesday 28th February. Would it be just the 2 of you? If it is I could try and get more on the boat for the trip, more than happy to take you out, but we would need more than 2 people on board.
