About
Kent’s original vineyard, Biddenden was established by the Barnes family in 1969, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019. Eleven varieties of grapes are grown across 23 acres, producing award-winning still and sparkling English wines. The famous Biddenden Cider is also produced on site along with farm-pressed Kentish apple & pear juices. Visitors are welcome at the vineyard year-round and the vineyard shop offers tastings of Biddenden’s wines, ciders & juices as well as stocking a wide selection of locally produced food & drink. Open tours run Saturdays April-September and private tours are available by prior arrangement.

Corkage being charged on soft drinks purchased on the premises
Jun 2021
Always had been a very welcoming and nice place to stop when on a bike ride, for a coffee, soft drink. Recently I stopped on an extremely hot day and we were told that the business focus was now on the vineyard and selling wine and cider; that be selling coffees going forward had stopped (fair enough).
Each member of my cycling group was charged corkage on bottles of soft drinks that they had bought on the premises. We had to drink them from the bottle (as no disposable cups were offered) nor paper straw. Shockingly I realised as I cycled away that I had been charged 15% corkage on top of the soft drinks that I had bought! Corkage is meant to be charged on bottles of wine etc purchased elsewhere and consumed on the premises. This is the first time I've ever been charged corkage on soft drinks bought in an establishment. Oh well, our group won't be visiting again.

Self Guided Tour is simply amazing!
Jun 2021 • Couples
The self guided tour is INCREDIBLE!

A truly lovely walk around the vineyard which is well marked out and the book provides lots of information about the vines and grape varieties. I strongly advise the red walk. It really isn’t that long so don’t panic!! After your walk, you head back to the shop where staff are so friendly and give you a menu of all the wines, ciders and juices you can try (including their expensive stuff!!) and then you can sit under a parasol and wait for your drinks! The attention to detail by the staff is second to none! They are so helpful and friendly that I was honestly blown away by them! The wines tasted were delicious and they certainly weren’t small tasters either!!

All in all, for £5pp which you can claim back £5 off every £20 you spend in store and get to keep the lovely self-guided tour book, I truly cannot recommend this lovely visit to Biddenden Vineyards enough! The value for money is simply astounding. I shall be bringing all my friends and family when they come to visit!!!

Great walking and great wine
May 2021
My wife and I had a great afternoon at Biddenden. We went for the self guided walk around the vineywards, which was lovely, then had a great wine tasting!! We also visited some of the other local vineyards, but this was definitely our favourite - both in terms of walking and wine!

Down to earth vineyard
Sep 2019 • Couples
We first had a trip to English vineyards in August 2018 and went back in August 2019.

On our last trip we did a Biddenden open tour and it was lovely and relaxed. Our guide was knowledgeable and the didn’t try to over complicate the chat with jargon and science.

We really enjoyed this tour and they have a great farm shop with lots of produce. They are also generous with their tasters. We took a fair bit of cider home with us and some locally produced condiments as gifts.

A small vineyard but definitely worth a visit for an informative chat about local wine and the market they are in without the guff.

Lovely tour and great produce
Feb 2020 • Couples
We booked this for my mother's 80th birthday as she's keen on both wine and cider - the whole thing was fantastic. Staff were very helpful throughout both arranging the tour and on the day. We had an interesting tour with Sharon who was a fantastic guide. We looked round the fields at the different vines then saw the bottling in action, followed by a tasting of several of the wines and ciders they produce. We'd booked a cheese platter for lunch too which was great. There's a shop which not only sells the things they make but also a number of other Kent deli products, and cafe service too. If you like wine/cheese/cider I would highly recommend it.

Wine tasting
Oct 2019
We went here as part of a three vineyard tour, called the` Full day wine tour` (run by Abi). This was very good. Lots of tastings, red, white and rose plus sparkling. Hard to keep up with all the information and wine tasting but you do learn a lot.

Lovely place to stop off for an hour
Sep 2019
Impromptu visit to Biddenden Vineyard on a rainy Sunday when we had an hour to kill. We did a 20 min walk ourselves around the vineyard and then tasted some of the wines in the shop. As we were the sole customers at the time, the female staff member was very attentive and helpful. Really glad we stopped off here, and now have some nice wines to drink back home. Well worth a visit.

Grown up lunch and delightful apple juice
Sep 2019
Found this place by chance on the journey down when husband suddently detoured off route to possibly buy some cider for our first meal at our holiday rental. Tasted ciders and duly bought but being tight for time decided we would return later in the week. Two days later we returned with the rest of the party (5 adults and 3 small dogs). Sat outside and had an amazing chees and proscutto platter with tasty local bread, crackers, apple slices and chutney, a meal enjoyed by us all and ample quantity as well. We chose red apple juice to drink. This was red and tasted wonderful. After lunch we wine tasted and shopped in relays to cover the dogs then went over to the car park and vineyard where some of the party sat and enjoyed the view while others walked around the rows of vines with the dogs on grass paths enjoying the sunshine and admiring the bunches of grapes hanging on the vines waiting for harvest. A super way to spend two to three hours.

Lovely day out
Aug 2019 • Friends
We did a self tour of the vineyards, what an amazing setting it was so beautiful. We tried lots of different
wines in the shop and then purchased some along with some cheese, jams, juices all at reasonable prices. It was a lovely afternoon sitting in the grounds having a few drinks and taking in the sights. A great day out
