The pier may not be the prettiest (of the brutalist school of architecture), but you don't look at the mantelpiece when poking the fire. Personally, I like its simplicity and the no-fuss air about it - no tacky arcades and such, just a long pier with a few shelters and benches along the wall. Great view of Deal and beyond... More

You cannot visitDeal without a stroll down this old pier. Beware the flying fishing hooks though..extremely popular with local anglers. Would advise avoiding the cafe at the end of the pier! On several visits we have had barely average food with very poor service. Plenty of options available when you head into town from the pier.

At first I didn't want to go on the blustery old pier but glad I did. The fresh air did me good but the views of the town and surrounding coast line from here gives you a very different perspective of the old town. Have some lovely shots and can see the difference in the beach from when we left... More

A stretch of walking pavement along the the pier, with few restaurants to choose from should you get hungry or just simply wanted to have a hot tea or coffee.

Not the most inspiring pier but gives good views along the coast and the town. There is a cafe / restaurant at the end.

It's a long walk to the end of this pier and the view of the town from the end is surely worth the walk, but it really is just a concrete road, with some shelters dotted about-rather unattractive. Lots of fresh air though!

Deal Pier is one of the more modern UK seaside piers having been completed reconstructed after the second world way. It's design, but not it's construction, are traditional with a long walkway extending into the English Channel. At the seaward end there is a well stocked cafe bar providing the visitor with wonderful views, both, out to sea and along... More

Excellent piece of sculpture at the entrance to the pier. The pier itself is fairly spartan and functional rather than beautiful. However, the views of the town, well the sea-frontage anyway, is spectacular and shows the conservation area in particular off to its best.

Not the most attractive looking pier but definitely worth a walk along, the cafe at the end is lovely, especially on a sunny day.
