Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

These establishments are becoming hard to find, too often they are filled with loud juke boxes, big billiard tables, modern decor, and characterless clientele.
But here's one that flaunts all that is traditional, down to the freshly gathered hops looped to the ceiling beams. Clientele that would not be out of place in a Caine or Dench movie, real barmaids
likewise. Amazing owners who host a home made feast for they customers every Sunday afternoon. Cheers!

Lovely new refurb. Lots of nice locals. No loud talkers - just a lovely old pub selling decent beer. Enjoyed a few evenings in here. Also - very child friendly.

The staff and the regulars made us feel very welcome, and part of the group, we only intended to stop briefly but had such a wonderful time we stayed all afternoon!

Lovely pint and great service from Debbie the new manager who is off to a fantastic start with the recent live music. Plus the pub dog is very cute

Brilliant boozer which still provides a free Sunday evening supper to their regulars. Nice pint of Oranjeboom too.

Chintzy little boozer that sells a decent pint of Bishop's Finger, but memorable for the large photo in the lounge, of the staff and barrels of beer and steam engines taken probably a century ago that most historic pubs would die for.

Wednesday evening Feb 2016. My wife and I went for a drink early evening, we were very impressed with how clean the pub was.
The tables and bar were polished to a very good shine, the staff obviously take pride in keeping the pub clean.
They sold Hurlimanns on tap which made me very happy. The pint was very good, served in a clean glass.
The pub is still kept in the traditional style, it is nice to see it hasn't been turned in to modern bar.
