If there was a higher rating I would give it. We had a really enjoyable day travelling on the RHDR and visiting various places along it. The first positive was that concession fares start at 60yrs old! All the staff/volunteers were very friendly & helpful and obviously enjoy their roles. This is a properly-run business, all the trains were on... More

Firstly, sad to hear about the accident, which happened a week after we went on the railway. Don't let it put you off, these things are rare. We had a great time. Took the train to Hythe and back to Romney Sands. It was such fun and great to see all the different trains. I was so excited to go... More

Had a fantastic day out with all age ranges from 2 - 30 years. Weather was a bonus but the staff and the train ride made are day. We done the whole train trip and loved the different sights and stops on the way. We have A son who's train mad and this outing deffo made family memories. We stop... More

Great day out. Grandchildren still quite young so limited ourselves to Hythe/Dymchurch stretch - with lots of beach, paddling, donkeys, funfair and food/ice cream at the seaside. RHD isn't cheap but it's a very enjoyable ride. Immaculate steam trains - ah, the noise and smell - and open carriages add to the atmosphere. Staff friendly and everyone we saw waved... More

OK! Visited August 26th. This review is also an update on a previous review last year. In some respects, not much has changed, but I am adding 3 photos taken on 10th Sept (credit is given to the relevant photographer/s) following the derailment at an occupation crossing near Dymchurch because the telephoto quality highlights the issues with the incredibly rough... Took a return trip from Hythe to Dungeness - Lovely weather which was fine for riding in one of the open carriages - The Locomotives were sparkling clean and the carriages well presented. Leaving Hythe the line runs at the back of some of the coastal properties some of which are best described as eyesores. But as they finish you... More

The RHD railway is a lovely attraction. The little trains are lovely and cosy. The model railway at Romney was very detailed and amazing. Very scenic route and will remember the smell of steam
