- Doc MLondon, United Kingdom24 contributionsA tasty spot with loads of yummy options. Don't miss out on Asian treats from the Bus. Great set up this Halloween.Fun little spot to visit full of great food and shops. Spooky set up for Halloween. Amazing bread buns and sausage rolls at Gina's bakery, tasty Greek food and curries, amazing ice cream and now newcomer Tic's Bus Cafe serving delicious Asian food. We had gorgeous Sate and an awesome Penang Curry really hit the spot, it has just opened, has authentic bus seating upstairs and will surely become a local favourite well worth hunting out.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 29 October 2023
- K CWorld14 contributionsA gastronomic feastI have been several times and yesterday it was all dressed up for Halloween. The spider room made me jump both times I went in. It is a gastronomic feast that does not break the bank. I have eaten at the Greek & pizza food stalls and yesterday at the newly opened Asian bus cafe. All outstanding. And then if you have a sweet tooth feast on the best ice-cream and bakery. A really friendly venue and where I eat every time I visit MargateVisited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 October 2023
- Lisa-likes-to-travelLondon, United Kingdom221 contributionsLovely to see the building. Just have a wonder.Lovely little market to look around. Most of the shops were closed but it’s a beautiful building to just pass by and have a look around. The bakery looks wonderful and there’s also a bus serving Thai food. I can’t comment on the food as I just passed through but it’s certainly quirky and a joy on the eye.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 January 2024
- Beveraldo418 contributionsLighting needs improving so it doesn't seem closed.Bit dark and dingy but good food options. For those who don't know this is like a mini food market where you can go to different small kitchen units for different food choices. We had pizza which was ok if not amazing. The pizza came slowly. There is also a bar where you can get a drink which was nice. Many of the units were closed when we went, unclear if this was a permanent or temporary closure (we were there at the weekend during school summer holidays so it would seem odd to be closed when there are lots of potential customers about). Decor a bit tired.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 8 August 2024
- Tracy B2 contributionsFamilyWe visited on a Saturday it was very busy, lovely friendly atmosphere. The children all had a milkshake from the lovely coffee shop & the adults all went for delicious flavoured coffees the best we have tasted in a long while. We also had some delicious Greek food & the children opted for some pizza. So much on offer we will definitely be returning very soonVisited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 19 August 2024

The Sicilian Pizza shop is wonderful. As good a pizza as I’ve had anywhere and at a decent price - recommended
The sandwich shop on the left as you enter is imaginative and worth a visit.
The bakery next door however is a disappointment. Lots refined flour products and surly staff. Worth avoiding.
The whole place is a bit dark inside but better if you can take something out by the water.

Monday in Margate not much open, but the Old Kent Market was. Seating outside and in small central courtyard inside, toilets at the back for customers only. Interesting mix of independent food concessions (bakery, pasta, smokehouse, Greek) on ground floor and upstairs small, independent shops (one way system in place). Great coffee, will make sure to pop in for a coffee next time I'm in the area. Tables cleaned down regularly when we were there.

Popped in today, and purchased a Cherry Bun from Gina's,which was very tasty, and a bargain at £1.50 for something of this quality.
The only other shops I saw open was the coffee shop, and then pizza vendor.
It is important to support local shops at this time, and I will be using it more often.

After working in an award winning Indian restaurant for 5 years, I think I can give a pretty reliable review.
Jaffna- South Indian cuisine. Really enjoyed the Spinach and also the spice and flavour of the chicken curry.
The owner was incredibly friendly and gave us way more food then we ordered. So we paid him a bit extra then what he was charging at the end (which was very little to begin with).
Very homemade authentic style little place, right down to the spoons, bowls and plates.
Don’t go expecting fine dining, it’s definitely a casual home eating style affair. But if that’s what your after it’s really great.
Gina’s old Kent bakery - had a delicious vegan slice and vegan custard pasty. Super friendly staff. Tasted great! Thanks

It's not a farmers market, its a selection of food and drink units and some quirky stalls upstairs. Its the best place to eat with your fxmily imo. Gina's bakery makes the best bread, buns and pastries, theres an excellent tea and coffee unit which is so reasonable. Vegan food stall, greasy spoon, micro pub, cocktail bar, too many to list by name BUT special mention goes to the curry unit with home made fish curry, with the best dal and sag rice and chapati for £8. Lovely gentlemen running it.

Quirky, colourful, and quite unexpected collection of foodies and bars, featuring a double decker London bus, a bakery, and a number of cafes / coffee shops. Very dark inside, and really atmospheric. All good fun.

Quirky shopping and eating emporium close to the Turner Gallery. Perfect for a quick bite to eat for lunch or a snack. Food & drink very reasonably priced and all made freshly on the premises. Would recommend the hot cross buns from the bakery and a nose round the upstairs shops. Could do with more seating but appreciate space is limited.

The place is quite nice inside and makes you feel like travelling back in time. When we went it was not crowded except for the queue at the ice cream shop. Worth a visit as there are several shops to buy some food from.

Are you able to bring dogs into the market?
Written 30 August 2020
Sorry have just seen your question. Very late but you might go this year, so 'yes' we were allowed to take our dog in there.

We went on a Saturday and it was really busy. Lunchtimes are the busiest. I believe the opening hours are 9-6 but this may change after summer.
