Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I made my first visit to this pool and thoroughly enjoyed it. The free parking was easy in Hodges Gap car park and I was just able to stand in the water at the first set of steps on the far side of the pool. I was glad I'd taken my water shoes as it was a bit rocky on the sea bed. Next time I will take swim cap and goggles to do some proper swimming as the pool is very calm. The Jetski cafe was closed so you need to take food with you and there are no loos (apart from in the cafe apparently). I then went on to Reculver Country Park (where I'd had childhood holidays!) where there are loos very close to the car park. Swimming there is now not possible on the east side of the tower.

Forget the Maldives with all that jetlag, sharks, overpriced drinks and ridiculously warm water. Head to Walpole Baty instead.

It's possibly the world's largest infinity pool. Unlike swimming pools that have the same water for years on end, here it's flushed clean by the tide twice a day. The best time is a little under 2 hours after high water, as the walls are uncovered. We also love to swim as the tide is coming in and just starting to overspill, but you need to get out once the walls are covered. The tide can be brutal and you risk being washed out along the coast.

There's no facilities apart from some temporary festival style portaloos. The water can be a bit chilly, but just embrace the fact. You'll feel all the better for it.

Great place, you feel safer with your children here, but beware it is about 6ft deep at the sea end. When we went it was during the virus period but people sat away from each other and it was not busy at all ( unlike the nearby Margate Sands) There is only a little cafe/shop on the beach for food, ice cream and coffee. Many people seemed to bring lunch and a few had small BBQ setups. In the tidal pool you can use boards and inflatable boats (Nothing with any type of motor). It's a nice clean beach with free parking (drive down the ramp and turn right for parking).Designed in 1937, it’s now Grade-II listed thanks to its size (four acres). A great safe day had by all in my party.

Loved visiting here for a quick dip one morning. It felt quite wild with the tide coming in. No changing facilities, but a wall to the right of the pool is a good spot to leave you bag.

What a treat! Lovely swim at low tide, be careful round the edges not to slip. Nice and quiet, free parkig at the top of the cliffs.

It is massive and apparently it is also listed....too right! A massive plus for Margate

Possibly the best place in the world, but keep it to yourself, ok? ;) Enter the pool by walking along the wall and going down the ladder. For most adults you can touch the ground there. Biggest tidal pool in the Uk!

I love it here, so much so that i'm reluctant to leave a review as part of the reason I love it so much is that it is usually much quieter than the main beaches. There's no 'kiss me quick' hats or sticks of rock or amusements, just a nice beach and a pool. You'll need rock boots or jelly shoes as its tricky underfoot. Best bet is to walk along the wall and just jump in. Check the tide times before you visit as the sand is pretty much completely covered at high tide and you'll have to wait on the prom for the tide to turn again.

Discovered this pool last year when walking along the coast. Determined to return for a swim. Caught the loop bus from Ramsgate where we were staying. Bus stop near Tesco in Cliftonville gives easy access, 5 minute walk down to the coast and the pool. Can feel a bit scary at first if no one else there. Have to work out how to get in. The iron steps not easiest for a 78 year old to negotiate. However well worth it once in. The width of the pool allows an uninterrupted swim for a much greater distance than a normal 25 metre pool. Returned for a second time last Thursday, one other swimming on arrival, mainly swam on my own, I loved the experience again. Only wished was on my doorstep for regular use.

Had a refreshing dip at low tide. It was fantastic, recommend water shoes. There's also a public sauna down on beach.
