BrewDog in a different guise

This was our first pub we visited on our Margate trip and we were both somewhat surprised to find that it's become a BrewDog place. I have no problem with that in principle but I... read more

Such a quaint place. Some fabulous beers and ales on tap. There were some music buskers too. Friendly company and convivial atmosphere

So sad to see what they've done to this pub. They've ripped out all the life and character and just left the sawdust on the floor.

We stopped here after savouring a meal elsewhere and were greeted by a very friendly bar lady. She introduced me to Dead Pony ale which was very drinkable. The muscadet wine my partner had was also delicious. We stayed consuming many rounds for some 3 hours and during all that time many drinkers came and went and showed what a... More

We went here for an evening drink last Monday night. The beer is excellent, and we settled in for an evening among the locals. Amazingly, who should walk in, carrying a large, odd shaped case, but our friend the pianist from the Britannia. He accepted a drink from us, then he opened up the odd-shaped case, and took out an... This was our first pub we visited on our Margate trip and we were both somewhat surprised to find that it's become a BrewDog place. I have no problem with that in principle but I do just wonder whether the fit in this case is really that good. Not sure that the sawdust floor quite works with the BrewDog model?... More

Lots of character, roaring log fire, which was very nice on a cold November day, excellent beer and a great selection.

Refurbished yet remains a good old fashioned pub. Real food. Real beer. Real pub with live music regularly. Well worth a visit.

This pub came recommended variously as a hidden gem, the best pub in Margate, and it probably was. However, it has now been taken over by the BrewDog chain, and the change does not appear to be for the best. I have to say ‘appear’ because I didn’t actually get to drink there. Here’s why. We arrived to find it... More

Amazing pub, full selection of Brew Dog craft ales as well as many ciders and normal ales. Every night seems to have some form of unique entertainment on. A must visit.
