Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a brilliant micro pub on the harbour at Margate. My clothes were drenched and, whilst I had spare clothes, the owners were kind enough to let my dry them using their fire and even wash my shoes.

The beer is delicious and the company even better. Great chat and great vibes! Would definitely come back if I return to Margate, and recommend to all

Overpriced warm beer, really? Staff seemed more interested in chatting than serving. Barman short changed two customers in a row and then looked annoyed when questioned!
Not great!

I visited this pace on my own, a glass of wine was a very reasonable price and the people that were running it were obviously enjoying it, relaxing, reading a book etc and were very friendly.
Not quite sure why they were sitting in comfortable deckchair, type seating reading their books, and I was left to sit on a hard metal chair which was very uncomfortable.
You need to be marketing your venue- get out there, otherwise people will just walk by and go between Be beached and the Lighthouse and ignore you
Hope this helps-- want all venues on the Arm to be successful!

Looked forward to visiting this pub. Excited after researching micro pubs in Margate. Arrived as two women asking if they had any pale ale. Scoffed at ever so slightly as if we were asking for lager. Really didn’t feel welcomed at all. Would recommend the Fez. A lovely mixed environment, sadly harbour arms didn’t have this at all.

Slightly grubby in places,
Barman disinterested,
Great view,
Sunburnt local pub dwellers smoking themselves to death.
Thats about it.

I have visited this place twice and on both occasions felt it was lacking in comparison to other micropubs. Perhaps I have been unlikely that on both occasions Margate has been very busy in general, which is reflected in the pub. On my most recent visit on Saturday they only had 2 ales being served, neither of which really appealed to me. The one I did have wasn't great, although certainly not because it wasn't looked after, more that it wasn't my type.

The atmosphere was akin to a tourist bar rather than a local one, which of course it is. It is a very pleasant location, although sat outside we were treated to the rather amusing conversation of the DFL (Down From London) brigade, who were hilarious in their ignorance of all things Margate.

Certainly not a bad visit, but I probably need to revisit during the quiet season for a more balanced view.

...found the fez lower margate high st very relaxed and friendly. The harbour arm seems to have a Un desired clientele and served by a bloke who looked like he needed a wash 1st time and last

Visited late afternoon on good friday with a group of Friends. I get the whole worn shabby sheek look but I felt the Harbour Arm was shabby and to be honest felt a little dirty inside? We noticed that the Glasses were being hand washed in a sink and not dried properl? One of our party was given a drink in a glass which had just been handed by a previous customer after they had finished and transitioned back with a new drink after being loosely washed, a bit of a turn off! we left after this, staff all seemed nice enough but that was it on this occasion.

Great beer, charming pub with board games, eccentric decor and a warm and fuzzy delight. Lovely old chap brought a guitar and everyone had a singsong! Great location - I shall return!

Friendly service awesome atmosphere. Locals sometimes have a jam night and their are regular quiz nights too. A mixture of interesting ales and ciders all at a reasonable price. Outdoor and indoor seating and dogs welcome. The view is to die for and the price is exceptional. The place to be. Beautiful in the summer cozy in the winter. A place where you can truly be yourself andnoone will mind.
