Designed by Lutjens in 1912 this is a beautifully designed and very well planted network of gardens leading into each other over this large site. It would be even better if there were more identification of some of the plants.

Go now! They are superb right now - better than I last remembered & now expanded to a tea room & cafe. After the disastrous floods of a few years back, they have now "come good"! Wonderful to see.

We spent about an hour in this garden, on a sunny June morning, and loved it. So many beautiful flowers, so attractively laid out. Many congratulations for the recovery of a historical garden. Definitely one of the highlights of Sandwich.

Small but perfectly formed. Laid out for an exquisitely gentle stroll. Breathing it in. Superb sunny afternoon. Taking inspiration from the planting. Loved it. Cream tea wasn't too bad either.

Really stunning gardens, some of which are arranged as rooms, hidden behind the walls in the middle of sandwich. Beautiful roses and lovely pond area. Would highly recommend for a visit when the weather is fine.

We visited the gardens on a very sunny April Sunday, well worth a visit if in the area, a good mix of plants to see in a beautiful layout. We spent about 1 1/2 hours just in the gardens. There is a small shop where...More

The food and atmosphere was second to none! We went for our elite dining room club event and the chef came out to introduce himself and the staff were friendly. But the food was something else altogether!!!

Yes, as long as they're on a lead. Also there is a water bowl in the potting shed/diy tea room for dogs too
