Visited these gardens in September and was delighted at the variety of design and plants on offer. Also many attractive sculptures. The gardens feature a variety of 'garden rooms' - all very different and all delightful. This was my first visit but I understand the gardens have been much restored following a major period of flooding, of which there was... More

I have visited the gardens twice, once at the end of June et once at the end of September. They are a complete delight. The tropical garden is full of colour and the contrast between the different foliage is wonderful. The long borders are crammed with beautiful plants. The colours are harmonious and the combination of plants is inspiring. The... More

this is the ideal time to visit ,in some respects golden autumn sunlight illuminating the plants and flowers, and not too hot to walk around, but on the downside the tearooms are closed as its the end of the season. Still there is a self service tea room [say hallo to the resident tabby curled up by the laptop] and... More

Lovely dahlias, interesting sculptures, great use of space. You would not think you were in the middle of the town. Very tranquil.

Friendly staff a little steep at £7 per person. We took a very elderly person in a wheel chair which was reasonably easy apart from some rough areas but she enjoyed it very much. It was also very considerate of the staff member to allow one of of us in free as a carer.

This garden was an unexpected delight which we stumbled upon whilst visiting Sandwich. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll like the much more famous Sissinghurst garden. The gardens were designed for a Grade 1 listed Manor House known as The Salutation which is now a luxury hotel. The planting was exquisite with dahlias being much in... More

These gardens are well worth a visit, although perhaps a little expensive (£7), but the annual membership (£12) is good value if you are a local. There is a wide variety of plants in the garden, which has really recovered remarkably well considering it was so badly flooded recently. They have a wonderful collection of dahlias and next week there... More

If you have an interest in gardens, you must pay a visit. Our reception was excellent and Sam, the Head Gardener, a delight to deal with. We look forward to seeing how the plants we bought thrive in our garden!
