My Grand children love this railway. When visiting they ask can we go on Thomas. That's what they call it. The carriages are old fashioned with no glass in the windows so a breeze is always there to cool you on hot summers days. Also in winter for around Christmas time the run the Thomas the Tank Engine special. At... More

This is the 4th year running that we've visited - it's not as fancy as other lines, but it's cheap, local and our boys love it. They're pleased with their presents as ever - Harley got a lion here 4 years ago and it's flat because he loves it so much and always sleeps on it! It's run by volunteers... More

Cheap day out, and lovely if you kids love Thomas the Tank Engine 😄 Better if it's a sunny day, and it has a good cafe.

My daughter loves going on the trains and plain on the green outside the cafe at the other end. Please remember the people who work there are all volunteers and do an amazing job on everything from the trains to the cafe and the gift shop! And always give 10/10 service 🖒 thank you

Easy to find, but no always open so check ahead, reasonable and the kids loved it. Would recommend it to anyone, only downside is some of the view of the recycling plant on the outbound journey, but you can stay at the other end and play or come back when you reach the end, and it makes for a very... The S&KLR is the remaining two mile section of a narrow gauge (2foot 6 inch) railway built to serve the then Bowaters Paper mills at Sittingbourne and Kemsley. Not the prtiest of routes but the concrete viaduct is fun. At the end of the line lots to see old engines, museum etc and some nice walks down by the river.... More

Took my grandson for a ride today and he was enchanted by this small industrial railway. A 15 minute journey each way is just right for a 2 year old and lots of toys to amuse him at Kemsley Down. A small and dedicated group of volunteers appear to work hard to operate this railway but it is clear that... More

Having a ride on the Sittingbourne and Kelmsley Railway offered a genuine 1970's preserved railway experience, full of atmousphere, enthusiastic staff, and nothing was too much trouble, although the station in Sittingbourne was slightly out of the way, it was easily found, there was free parking nearby, Sittingbourne main line station was within walking distance, and having negotiated the (definitely...
