A very attractive small market town with plenty of independent shops and small cafes. A beautiful High Street with a lovely tree lined avenue and greens, and an abundance of historic buildings to gaze at including a fabulous 11th century church. Grab a ride on one of the steam trains from Tenterden Town Station and take in the lovely views of the unspoilt surrounding countryside as the train trundles down the track. The title "Tenterden, the Jewel of the Weald" is richly deserved. Free car parking in Bridewell Lane car park every Sunday and on Bank Holidays

We chanced on Tenterden while out for a drive from Rye and decided to "park up" and walk the High Street. There is some street parking but even on a Monday mid day the town was busy so we parked at the rear of Waitrose...More

Various restaurants, cafe's, curious antique shops for finding an historical bargain, beautiful church with tower to climb for magnificent views, banks, independent shops, leisure centre, park for the little ones, oh yes - a friendly pub or 2 - love it here.

Visited several times and always enjoy my time there. Plenty of variety food wise. Interesting little boutique shops and historic sites to visit. The church tower is worth climbing for the stunning views. Though it isn't always open

Having driven through this area on our way to Romney we spotted many places that we would like to have a look at and decided to come back before leaving.

Showing a bid of age and needing a fresh paint job. Adequate shops but could use some more variety and upmarket boutique to draw more visitors yearround.

This is still a great high street when one is in this town but unfortunately is a changing face of commercialisation as so many of the old and traditional shops and companies have gone giving rise to the chain shops that are in all other...More

Went on a Saturday. Was lovely. More public toilets needed. I'm a disabled woman and has to wait for someone to unlock the ones in the park as they were still closed at 10am. Despite the kids playing in a football tournament on the green...More
